Does Shaun Higgins actually want to come to Geelong or is this a media beat-up?

Did he reject us last year?

If yes to the second question he can get stuffed
I think they are saying North kept him by saying they were going for a flag now they are in a full rebuild. Didnt honour the contract so to speak, thus he now wants to leave.

If Cockatoo stays fit he's worth more than Witherden ever will be. He has loads more talent and twice as much upside.

We need mid sized defenders who use the ball well. It's a win/win in my books.

He would be if he had exposed form in the last 2 year's but he doesn't that kills trade value.

Witherden is the birchall replacement long term they might trade him but it won't be for the cheap pick that cocky would be worth.

Weird how some of the clubs in dire need of a KPF (eg Melbourne and Collingwood) aren't being linked more strongly with Daniher and Brown.

Collingwood have cap issues and Melbourne don't have a first rounder this year but both could bring Brown in if they traded other players out first I reckon.

I think it'll be something like Constable for Higgins plus late pick swaps

North don't need inside mids imo so you probably need a 3 club trade in that scenario but it could work.

We are a system based team that hides the fact until we come up against sides who can kick and make us look second rate, Tigers, GWS, Magpies and West Coast all have better field kicking then we do and no surprise how many games did we win against them?
Thats not really telling the full story though. West Coast we led all night despite missing a host of players the week after they obliterated Collingwood. GWS didn't even make the finals so I guess they are third or fourth rate?

What unsettles us are if we are a little of is high pressure. Which Tigers and Pies brought in spades. That being said, Brisbane and Bulldogs started both their games against us at a higher intensity than the former two mentioned and we turned it around.

What has separated us this year, when we've turned up with a high intensity from the get go, is our slick ball use and quick movement. Go rewatch the Port and Saints games, some of the best passages of play all year.

Our problem is showing up ready to play and then by extension, maintaining that level of play. Which i'd say is largely in-between the ears and not easily fixed. As someone else in here said, its no use bringing in new recruits if the team doesn't show up to perform. Fingers crossed they've rectified that this year.

West Coast & Richmond both out systemed our system with a high press that our backs weren’t good enough to kick through, yes Richmond brought their usual manic pressure that we’ve failed to handle (we’re not alone there though) in the last 3 years, but they turned us over easy from the back.

Personally I think “not turning up to play sometimes” is an over simplification.

Daniher I feel was always open for a move interstate, wanted Sydney last season and now appears to fancy Brisbane. I think we obviously asked the question, media got wind of it, Hawkins says he’d love to play alongside Daniher to they assume we are in the front seat.

We’ve been after Cameron for a while and he’s the one we’ll gun for IF he decides to leave, which I think GWS and the ‘AFL’ will do what they can to keep him there.
They haven’t got the money for Daniher surely! Tell them they are dreaming. Even if they have the money, which I doubt, do they have the draft picks Essendon will want when they match the offer?
