I agree but we smashed Richmond in contested possession so effort wasn't our problem system and disposal quality was.

I mentioned this in the gameday thread, but the way I saw it was this. Absolutely the Tigers pressure got to us, but I felt that, whilst we won contested possession we were lethargic in setting up our structure around the stoppage to allow for an effective passage of play. Couple that with lack of clean ball use (partly them, partly us) and we had barely any clean entries inside 50.

They would be but both are contracted now so I can't see us getting them out for cheap and we won't pay what north wants. If they were both free agents this year it would be different.

Thats what I thought till the chatter about Brown. I think both them and Hawks are clearing the decks. North more so. I wouldn't be shocked if they are trying to save money but it seems a fire sale. You add the 11 the other day to Brown, Polec, possibly Higgins and I'm sure there is a couple of others who aren't public yet and its a potential 50 per cent list clean out. They've basically said Adelaide, hold my beer, I'm going to try be worse.

Good point. He's actually had numerous chances to come to Geelong. We have chased him for a long time and he has continually rejected our advances. As far as I'm concerned, he doesn't want to come here, and that being the case, we move on and target someone that does. We want players to embrace the club, our culture and want to play for this great jumper iMO. It's clear that Higgins does not want to..

West Coast & Richmond both out systemed our system with a high press that our backs weren’t good enough to kick through, yes Richmond brought their usual manic pressure that we’ve failed to handle (we’re not alone there though) in the last 3 years, but they turned us over easy from the back.

Personally I think “not turning up to play sometimes” is an over simplification.

Naitanui won the game for the Eagles, nothing more, nothing less. We had them on toast.

If Crouch is free and on around 600k then that’s good. I’d prefer Viney but I respect guys like Joey Montagna who is working in the opposition scout field who thinks Crouch is the better player.

He’s nice to have but its certainly not a game changer like if either Cameron or Daniher commit. That would be a great enormous for us. People under estimate how he those positions are to fill.
