Steven is a prime example not to recruit Higgins. Yes professionalism a bit different but too old to fit into a different team and impact so quickly. No Higgins!

The injury at Richmond has tightened options.... If Daniher came to geelong it potentially might solve a few issues , but apart from that the shortage of ruck stocks make even a mehh type ruck prospect haev decent value. Makes one wonder why we dont at least try to have a couple of prospects on our list..

Why is the club linked to so many players ..with a Preliminary finals spot up for grabs ... When we are linked players as old as Higgins thru to kids like XOH..I think there will be interest...

Id say its because there is two sides to the club one is about the team they have ..and the other is all about futures... maybe thats where peoples hope lies in the future rather than the brutal reality of the now. Next Thursday will come and will either maintain or elevate hope or vanquish yet again the fragile confidence that the club has built thru the year.

This... while Close could not yet really play the GAJ role currently, with time I feel he could. Fast, good vision and skills, can find the goals and works well defensively.

With that all said, there will never be anyone filling a GAJ role.

I actually like the Higgins recruitment if it eventuates, he missed so much footy in the first half of his career that his body should be reasonably fresh for his age and he was dominating in a side that pretty much had nobody with Cunnington out, ability to play a number of roles is also a positive.

We do have ruck prospects on the list, you just don't like them.

We've tried plenty of different ruck options over the past few years, it's just that Rhys Stanley proved to clearly be the best available. That would still be the case if we recruit another Nankervis type.

Yeah I really don't see any way we can replace an Ablett, but in terms of what close brings to the role in acceleration, pressure, ability to hit the scoreboard, and a few little natural footy instincts moments where he seems to go on the attack and make the right decision doing it i think shows that he worth putting some serious games into.

We worked wonders on Menzels groins. Maybe we could give Daniher injections too, worked a treat

I would prefer we go to the draft this year. It’s high risk with few games from prospects but way more exciting as a fab match to watch a player develop than trade in a soon to retire player.

With covid restrictions relaxing, are their any U18 carnivals planned before draft?
