Why would we trade Clarke for pick 27, can’t get anyone playing in our seniors next year for that. Just keep him as he is under contract. If Freo want him they need to pay more or try their luck with the draft with their pick 27.

There is no way we trade Clarke for pick 27, that will probably end up being pick 30-31. If we let him go my guess is we offer Clarke and a 2nd this year, for their future 1st. Which Freo won’t accept, so he stays.

If we look at it without the Geelong goggles on 27 is probably a steal, he's been with us 3 years, started ok but then hurt his elbow, then his shoulder and hasnt been the same player since, is still built like a weed and isnt in our best 22 and when he does play he ***** up by missing goals from the goal square (yes i know that only happened once), i understand everyone has a thirst for speed, thats not an issue, its the rest of his game that doesn't stack up. Maybe Freo can get more out of him, maybe not but we should take 27 and run, for all we know we might be able to get Knevitt with that pick.

8 is not gonna happen and 27 is too low when hes contracted the middle ground is a 15-20 pick. Something where we get the dogs pick 17 they get darcy points and freo give up 27 and other picks and get clark is what i imagine the club wants to release him.

There’s obviously a different situation at the Suns but Brodie was pick 9 and is 22. If he was on our list we’d be hoping the club would get a good return. Not exactly the same as the players that are leaving geelong. But it shows good picks don’t always work out and players rarely get traded for what they were drafted.

I can see Constable either being a late deal as the trade period is about to finish for a team that has some open spots on their list, or potentially a very late 1 season offer from Geelong with the knowledge that if it clicks they can offer him a longer deal next year or delist to open a spot ahead of what's expected to be a better draft

This is the third consecutive trade period where he's looked at his options and the third consecutive trade period where it's seemingly crickets in terms of external interest -doesn't really bode well for Constable

Keep in mind that it was discussed that only 55 players will be drafted this year including recycles. Given list spots open etc. last year it was 59.

As an example this could work

Cerra and freos future 3rd for carl 6 and 25
Fort to brisbane for 57
Freo give up 25 and 27 and get clark and 34
Dogs give 17 and future R2 (assume say pick 35 next year) and get 25 27 52 and 57 (this is enough points to match darcy at pick 3
Geelong give Fort Clark 34 and 52 and get 17 and dogs future 2nd.
It values clark at roughly pick 25 on points but gives all clubs what i imagine they want. Could add in later pick swaps between clubs as needed to even it out.
Would give us 17 30 32 and then obviously whatever we get for kreuger minus whatever we spend on any ruck we trade in.

- Geelong & Freddie, or
- Bulldogs & Lipinski

Wouldn't be surprised if one goes to the PSD and they trade for the other

This is where the team that gets creative with a trade may get the deal done
