There's a couple of clubs coming real hard at Geelong for Conway.

It's clearly a sign of the kids upside that almost every club we've spoken to about a contracted player, have all basically pointed at Conway as part of any deal. And clubs are making inquiries to get him out of Geelong regardless of any related or unrelated trades.
This is a lie and completely made up
Another obvious post with zero knowledge

Mate if people want to talk about Lord and him in the hoops let them, you always claim all sources are crap and have no merit.
But everyone is supposed to believe you? A guy who claims to have massive knowledge of the dealings of the GFC, you might know some stuff but they way youve been carrying on lately is just sad.

Let people discuss, I for one see straight through you and your content dribble.

Never had to block someone on here but mate your close, get over yourself
You're not the only one who sees through it. Your post is spot on.

As a fun exercise, and given the rumoured reports of a shallower draft than most expected, these are the 40 or so kids I reckon are most likely to be drafted (in no particular order)

H. Reid
Walter
McKercher
Z. Duursma
E. Read
N. Watson
Sanders
Rogers
McCabe
C. O'Sullivan
N. Caddy
Curtin
D. Wilson
Windsor
O. Murphy
J. Croft
Schoenmaker
G. Stevens
C. Edwards
M. Edwards
W. Green
W. Graham
Lual
Hastie
Zakostelsky
Moir
Leake
A. Reid
A. Roberts
Collard
T. Jiath
DeMattia
Hardemann
A. O'Driscoll
C. Cleary
DeLean
Mannagh
Callinan
Freijah
Lorenz
Gothard

Gets really scrappy at some points, and I can see just how poor a pick 24 would seem in such a shallow draft. Probably some I've missed, but all in all, there's probably 15 or so names outside of the 'elite' players, that I'm really interested in.

Essentially, of those available to us, this is how I have them ranked:

ELITE

1. H. Reid
2. McKercher
3. Sanders
4. Curtin
5. Z. Duursma
6. N. Watson
7. C. O'Sullivan
8. N. Caddy
9. D. Wilson

Solid enough to pick with a non top-end pick

1. O. Murphy
2. C. Edwards
3. Schoenmaker
4. Windsor
5. Collard
6. Zakostelsky
7. Leake
8. Hardemann
9. G. Stevens
10. DeMattia
11. A. Roberts
12. Hastie
13. A. O'Driscol
14. T. Jiath
15. Lual

**************

So for mine, we realistically have a chance of getting maybe 1 of those near the end like Hastie or G. Stevens, with the Sav pick. Can see why they want more when viewing it like that. Who knows, may actually only end up being 40 or so this year looking at the names available after the 40 listed.

I know you say you have sources but other people may have insider info too mate?
You can't dismiss anything that isn't yours as "flimsy"

Like what are your credentials to be saying that to other people?
How do we know that you aren't full of it?

Noting that i usually listen to what you have to say and usually take it onboard as info from a source close to the club....
It is weird.

So we're not allowed to discuss Lord, even though he was the man of the hour late last night and Geelong were in Adelaide last week to coerce him over.....

But we're allowed to discuss Baz Smith, which has already been knocked on the head a million times as an issue to deal with in 2024? Make it make sense.

And they get another 2 next year as well.
Yeah they have been traded out , but I thought those two assistance picks were to be up for consideration at the end of next year….? Gee whiz talk about overs for assistance……

It's going to be tough for Port, but they can't say we didn't warn them.

What do we reckon they do? If it's to be in this draft, I'd say we're looking for something like Norf's 18. Have no idea how they're going to get that though.

If it's next year, we'll probably ask for 24 + the Freo SRP, which feels reasonable enough considering our stance.

Swans identified mid experience and go and make it happen with Tay Adams & Grundy…. Cats are the home viewers this season… not a destination club it would seem since our slide south down the ladder…. Fair enough I guess..
You are quite possibly the most reactionary human being I've ever seen.

I watched some George Stevens highlights and I thought he would be a good fit for our team. If we don't get Sanders, then I'd definitely look at him, and I reckon you'd pull the trigger on him at any pick after 15 if we move back considering we need an inside bull.

On Shoenmakers, he ran a 6:25 for the 2km, just outside the Top 10. I wouldn't hesitate on him either if we trade back or use the Esava pick.

If we trade back into 15-18 zone, then DeMattia is probably going to be there and he will provide us with a nice left footer that can play outside mid with his pace and also be able to use him inside mid eventually.

We're not getting Norf's 18 - they won't trade back. Would be more likely to get the Port Future 2nd, as the Freo 2nd would be seen as being more valuable.

That said, I think we'll just end up asking for a later pick/future pick, when it comes down to the buzzer. We'll get as much as we can, but I don't see much more coming from Port given they've been pretty reasonable to offer that pick in the first place.

Its funny we have a reputation of being a "difficult club" after the T Kelly and now Esava stuff, I am seeing it on the transfer threads on BF, reddit, etc, its like people have forgotten that between around 2000 til about 2018 if a player wanted to leave we got them to the club they wanted to get to, often for unders.

Also they forget that we paid full price for Cameron, and its often Tiggies fans who point that out (and don't remember that they got Lynch for free under the same circumstances).

Most teams are difficult to deal with, lets be honest.

In a strong draft year, with depth, the top 10 don't stand out.

in a moderate draft the top 10 do stand out.

In a poor draft year the top 10 don't stand out.

If those assumptions hold up against the scrutiny of the GFC BF board then this year is a moderate bunch talent wise and little is to be had past pick 15.

Or

The top ten or so that stand out , do stand out, because week on week they perform against substandard opponents , not because they are very talented .

mmmmm

Or ?

I can't make it make sense. But I can say that different sources will bring different levels of information.

Over the last couple of weeks, I've heard from 2 individuals opposite stories on Baz. In both cases they're actually correct. Geelong will likely be staying super close in a never say never approach. In the Doggies camp they're not taking calls on him. Doesn't change the wheeling and dealing that agents do on behalf of players and coaches.

I tend to agree with this as well.

I remember a couple days before the grand final last year, someone (could’ve been same user) said Holmes is playing, been told he’s locked and has been informed. Next minute he doesn’t get named and it was “oh well what I meant was the doctors cleared him, club must’ve decided against it”.

No one who has serious insider knowledge is posting on bigfooty lol. The club will tell them to shut the * up and never tell them anything again if some random decided to leak everything to us plebs here

Nah, things shift. I don't know about the Holmes stuff, but I know someone was super hot on TDK at one point this year. And if they weren't sharing, I would have because I was hearing the exact same thing.

Just like media tweets that are hit and miss on the final result, we want people to share what they hear to give us more to talk about. We can hold them accountable, but also should realize things change quickly.

We have pick 8 and a pick in the 80's....

What is your plan to bring all these guys in when we cant trade our first unless we bring another first in?
Everyone knew this offseason would be the low key one, next year when we have all our picks is when we'll make moves.

I think the issue at hand is the way in which some thoughts are dismissed, ie "I know for fact this isn't happening, so no point going any further."

Unless you're citing a named, specific source, it's rumour and the best course should be "From what I understand, this isn't going to happen, it's probably not worth placing a huge focus on it, but as this is a discussion forum, have at it."

I agree with no one has serious inside knowledge
Some people get snippets here and there but this bloke picks up the from and calls Chris Scott apparently
That’s how in-depth he is with the ins and outs of the GFC

That may be true in some cases but id bet my house the club isn’t telling a 19 year old kid he’s locked in the grand final team, and letting some random on bigfooty know and then turn around at the last second and say oops nah jokes you’re not playing.

I take everything said here with a grain of salt at most. Have a look at the last month. “Mystery mid, Perkins to Geelong etc etc” people talk garbage it’s an anonymous forum

Lets be honest, in trade windows what was true last night might not be the case by the next morning. People speculating we take 8 to the draft and see how it plays out on the night (maybe we take someone, maybe we split it) but all it takes is someone from another club where we likely have 0 contacts to decide they want that pick and the cogs are turning before we get a sniff of it.

I love the content on here, but honestly until it says "deal done" on the GFC website I don't believe anything.

A lot of it can be pure coincidence too.

Does anybody remember Tom Browne a couple years ago? Said that Riewoldt had had scans and was out for an extended period.

Jack chirps back, saying 'You must have a time machine Tom, or you're making it up, as I haven't even had the scans yet'.

Funnily enough, Tom actually ended up being right just by pure coincidence with a hit in hope.

I've got no insider knowledge, but I hereby declare with certainty that Marcus Bontempelli is trying to get to the Cats.

May not happen, but watch this space. Trust me guys, I wouldn't lie to you!!!

Even GC with GAJ (not Bowes;))
