I would take Curtin. A future first won't cut it.
I reckon if WC trade down and still don’t take Curtin with their first pick then they are unlikely to trade a FF for him.

Sure, and we'd find another one. This club always finds a way.Maybe, but IF he wanted out, we would be well compensated. And hoping he gets to show a bit of what he can do next season.
True, I have no knowledge, but just stating what I think he will do.
Hope it's unfounded.
But not really stressed if he did request to leave.
That may change after 24.
Sure.Sure, and we'd find another one. This club always finds a way.
But until proven otherwise, it's an opinion based on nothing. Even Ollie Henry had his brother at another club, and was living away from home. It's not even to that level.
He's a local boy, seen as a potential future captain, and being mentored by the clubs most revered legend.
Nothing's impossible, but it feels pointless to predict the worst possible outcome when it's based on nothing. Each to their own though.
It would be akin to us saying "Don't bother drafting or developing anyone for a while guys, Harley Reid's coming in a couple years, we'll be right"
"Based on what?"
"He supported Geelong as a kid"
I think we'd all be in unison in needing a little more evidence than that.

And the rest...Fremantle may trade there future 1st for Curtin if he is still there at Giants pick
Just 12 months ago we were the flavour of the month too Dubs.Sure.
My gut feelings should have no bearing on reality.
It was more a comment on everybody now wanting Collingwood

Even if its a likely top 5 pick from wce? Id consider it given next years draft is good.
It's pretty funny. Thankfully, reality doesn't work that way and the culture we have continued to build upon since 2011 won't just disappear after one bad season.Just 12 months ago we were the flavour of the month too Dubs.
Come next year it could be anyone. The recency bias is so strong these days.
In fact, I remember a direct quote from Tim Watson: "All my sources are telling me that everybody wants to get to Geelong".
If Hawthorn improve again, I could see them becoming an attractive proposition. I've got a lot of time for Mitchell, and he seems to have them going in the right direction.
The point is though, we don't know, and at this time of year all that anything's based on is what just occurred in front of us.
We experienced that glory last year. There were articles stating another 10 years of dominance is coming, that 2023 would be even better, how TDK and others couldn't wait to get here, stuff like that.
It's what happens when there's nothing else to base an opinion on for 6 months. The premier gets smoke blown up their bum and can't seem to put a foot wrong. Everything they touch turns to gold.
You'd be surprised how quickly that can change, and as we saw this year, by round 1 they're already back laying the boots into you.
I meant more they take reid at 1 then they trade FF for 7 or 8 to get curtin.
Bloody oath mate. It's pretty funny. Thankfully, reality doesn't work that way and the culture we have continued to build upon since 2011 won't just disappear after one bad season.
For every player we hypothetically lose, we'll get in another 3. Such is the strength of what we've built.
Everything there is spot on.Just 12 months ago we were the flavour of the month too Dubs.

Walter will go at 2 for a start.
But yeah the rest could happen. Osullivan could go at 7 to gws or they could trade the pick.
Be interesting to see if someone will trade up to grab curtin if they do they will target our pick or gws.
Id do 8 for F1 from wce if they offered it.
Holmes is more chance to end up there than clark imo i dont think clark is going anywhere.
Its possible. Especially as he is a Freo supporter. If Curtin was there at our pick who knows what we get offered.Fremantle may trade there future 1st for Curtin if he is still there at Giants pick
Nobody won trade period this year. There just weren’t any big fish in the waterTommy Morris of SEN radio has ranked us 17th best for the free agency/ trade period …..

Social Media post from overseas made me smile - Knevitt, Holmes , Bruhn and Ollie H with their arms around each other having a ballThat is such a lazy take Dubs, and just peak pessimism.
There's literally no proof that this is the case. In fact, we've had posters come in here who know the Clark family who have said Jhye has no intention of leaving.
I highly doubt Holmes will either, as that's already been shut down numerous times...but at least there's been a couple rumblings to suggest that could be the case, and he at least was an eastern suburbs Melbourne guy.
Your only reasoning is he grew up a Collingwood supporter. He's not from Melbourne, he hasn't been drafted interstate, he was literally just a supporter. That's your hypothesis.
Joel Selwood being his mentor by the time he was 16, playing with all his junior falcons mates, and being seen as a future leader at his local club are irrelevant to you? It's all based on who he supported a as a kid?
I suppose we can all look forward to Charlie Curnow, Archie Perkins, Bailey Humphrey, Will Ashcroft, Harley Reid, Darcy Fogarty, James Worpel, & Hugh McCluggage all making their way down the highway because of their childhood allegiances?
Jhye Clark 13, you're going to love this one.

Wonder with Joel Smith's future looking shaky whether the D's may look at Caddy?
They already have concerns about their forwardline.(although I believe a lot of Melbs probably are the way the ball comes in not the talent in the F50)
Caddy would seem a good add for them.
