Tom Morris confirming the charges will be dropped, so having #4 in the midfield next season is a big gain.
Pickers' mentioned this last night on the Agenda Setters too.

Thought he might have slipped up accidentally and gotten himself into a bit of trouble, but he must have heard something.

I thought it was going to be a similar sort of situation to those St Kilda players back in the day. Private residence, murky circumstances etc.

The details in court the other day don't reflect great on the individuals but you could read it like a third party, outside of the alleged victim / alleged perpetrators, might have seen an opportunity for a pay day.

I don’t rate him as highly as others on here. Great kick I50 and high endurance style player, but poor defensively, slow, not a strong contested body, can get burnt on transition, and is a poor contested mark.

His very good at what he does well, but let’s not pretend he doesn’t have limitations either. His not overall a complete package.

Chris Scott has just created a role for him that has maximized what he is very good at.

If he played for north Melbourne, he would be getting slaughtered

Is he?

This year he averaged 3.17 tackles per game, which ranked him 7th at the club. Last year he averaged 4.24 per game which was equal 5th - so he's def shown he's not afraid to get his hands dirty with defensive work

Sure, he's not a strong contested mark but not many players 180cm or shorter are. We've got 5 blokes 180cm or shorter on our list and here's there contested mark numbers from this year:

Wiltshire (180cm) - 0
Atkins (180cm) - 2
Miers (179cm) - 0
Mannagh (178cm) - 1
Stengle (175cm) - 5

And just for fun, both Holmes & Bowes finished with just 4 contested marks each for the season just finished

Here's our total contested mark numbers for the season - not everyone is a contested mark player, so not sure it's really a negative when it's not a players strength

Hopefully a lesson he never forgets
I doubt he will. This is like getting told not to play with fire, and then losing your arm to really hammer the point home. Horrific situation that's pretty hard to move past.

Hopefully he can, and more importantly, hopefully the courts and all parties have come to the correct and true decision too.

I know most will be penciling him in to play round one now, but there's a lot of work ahead of him both mentally, socially, and physically to come I'd say.

It wouldn't be something that you get over quickly.

Exonerated at exactly the right time though
Ready to crack in day one pre season

Watched all his VFL games as well.. no one puts in more effort and defensive work

If hate to lose him - he’s our Tom Atkins replacement - we need him for hardness and defensive pressure IMO but it’s outta my control

Go Catters
Ted not far away from decent AFL showings imo.
