He said something like, it's nice to draft a brother.
But he was picked based on skillset. He's a bit raw. But our environment will help.

And I think...... he referred to both picks as projects.
Of course he said all that. He's hardly going to say, "Well the main reason we picked Hunter was to help keep Max happy, and it makes for a nice story!"

The only thing you can say about Hunter is he has the height, endurance, and athleticism which are clearly the defining characteristics we look for in players these days. Those other plays have ability but we back ourselves to develop that in players with an otherwise low floor. That feels like a risk id rather not take so consistently that we end up with a list full of players who only have 1 or 2 strings to their bow beyond their ability to run all day.

We have a lot of tall runners already, and they got spanked a month ago by a team of players with incredible talent. Im not sure our philosophy on talent identification is working out for us when it counts.
With all due respect, I'm backing Wells and Mackie's judgement over yours.

I actually think our drafting and recruitment is absolutely first class. It's just that we're battling a system that is stacked against us. We have had very, very few top end draft picks in the last 2 decades, and we don't have anywhere near the Academy benefits that the northern clubs get.

People also talk about our FS winners, but how many of those were in our GF side? Meanwhile the Lions had Ashcroft, Ashcroft and Fletcher carving it up.

The system is literally DESIGNED to boost those clubs up and pull us down the ladder, yet there we were.

For us to get as far as we did this year (including beating the Lions convincingly in the QF on the way) is a testament to just how good we are at those things.

He have a better history of drafting guys with physical traits then dudes that put up big numbers at 18s. I back our development guys for sure.

That’s a better way to do it. Protects him from being picked up by anyone else

All the undrafted academy players are cat b prelists if their clubs want them.
I feel sorry for rongdit id love to see him get picked up maybe he can join our vfl team for next year.

Are we seriously gonna re-draft Steven’s and KMF.

Seems like such a waste.

Rather have a shot at the stumps on some others.

Low-key reckon we are hoping another club snags Steven’s before we have to take him again.

Maybe but we will take them if no one does we will want to keep the commitment. I would have just delisted kmf and paid him out personally.

Who do we take as a rookie?

Maybe Rodriguez? I like onley and I also like felix kneipp. Blamires you would imagine gets taken by someone given the history.

Nothing novel

NHH
Rodriguez

But I think we should look for a raw KPF no idea who though

I don't want to say goodbye to Clohesy either. If we're retaining others

Molier could be our next KPF. Has the tools on limited exposure. Edwards possibly too. Has forward ability. But we probably need another in the pipeline.

When you put it that way, we're probably well stocked in that area.
Molier is a better prospect than any forward we would've got in this draft.

It's a really poor one for talls, and the best one in Schubert kicks it like John Butcher.

I'd take any of NHH, Rodriguez, Oudshoorn-Bennier, or Blamires tbh. I haven't rated Onley or Greeves at all, but as rookies you could do worse at this point.

Expecting Rongdit though for the good vibes. We clearly don't rate most of this draft, and with good reason.
