Just finished the main story of this last night. What a brilliant game.

Still got Iki Island and alot of the side sides quests to do but want part 2 asap.

Iki island takes place early in act 2 i think. at least thats when it unlocks.

But with how some of the dialog is it takes place before act 3

Yeh, played it as soon as I could in my new game+ run through. Definitely feels like it should take place towards the end of the main story, if not after.
