Movie Ghostbusters 3

So? Perhaps the script of this movie will be better. My point was the script of GB2 was ordinary, but elevated by the talent. Perhaps this script will be better, helped by Wiig and McCarthy who both have pretty decent track records.
No the script for this movie is pure shit.

It is even worse then pixels and the "jokes" will make you cringe

If I was casting I'd have considered for the roles:

Dawn French for Aykroyds role, Ellen Degeneres as Ramis role, Aisha Taylor for Ernie Hudson role. Not sure on the Murray Role. Has to be a dry wit style person, so maybe Jane Lynch.

That combo is far more quirkier than what has been cast and Ghostbusters needs quirky.

Would you attach the proton guns to their walkers too?

Must Hollywood destroy my child hood movies ffs.

Flight of The Navigator is one of my favourites and i wouldn't be surprised if that is on the 'remake movie' list.
It's pretty hardcore that they're tracking down and destroying every copy of the original, I agree.

A bit of old school originality wouldn't go astray.

Lazy cash grabs are just that and not sure why people get shitty because people don't want them.

Welcome to the last 15 years of Hollywood.

He looks and sounds like a typical nu-male. I wouldn't be surprised if he does like it or has forced himself to like it.

Check out reviews for London Has Fallen and also The Purge: Election Year for some more hilarious reviews that are politically charged.

I had to Google this.

Ya know who would have been a hell of a lot better pick than Melissa McCarthy(imo).

Dawn French. Better actress, better comedian and simply a more expressive funny person. More believable as an academic and without the McCarthy clumsy idiot schtick attached to her.

Americans don't give a shit about Dawn French.

Yarp

Doesn't mean I have to like it or should be made to feel bad about speaking out against it.
Nobody said you should. It's just an amazing coincidence that it's been this film that's generated ridiculous levels of anger and trolling and so forth, because of lack of originality, or diminished quality when compared to the original/best. Not the 8 Batman films, 3 Superman films, 8 billion Marvel films (both Marvel studios and others like Daredevil etc), 9 X-Men films, 5 Spider-Man films, 5 Terminator films, and so on that have all been released since Ghostbusters was. They're re-making a true classic in Ben Hur, nay a word has been said. Disney films getting remade left right and centre. War of the Worlds. Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Karate Kid. Total Recall. Etc, etc. There's been murmurings at times, anticipated dislike. But compared to what this film's received? Nothing.

Funny that.

I love how Dawn French just became relevant again, more Vicar of Dibley please!

Ok.

By the way, if the above was the lead in the new Ghostbusters the furore would be worse.

What's the difference between a remake and reboot anyway?

Remake is usually a straight redo of the original. Reboots can have all kinds of changes. They're both the same in that the canon goes in the bin and they exist in their own universe.

Soft reboot - which is what I think this is - are the trend now. They are technically sequels but nothing that happened in the original movie or movies has any bearing on the plot and most or none of the original characters appear. Jurassic World and Star Wars: The Force Awakens come to mind.

Playing devils advocate

Most of those movies don't hold the same childhood memories as GB does, Batman was destroyed in the 90's to be save in the 00's.

Marvel is the new king, also, doesn't hold childhood memories (in film)

X-Men received criticism for a few of their films, also don't hold childhood memories (in film)

Terminators have a sense of ongoing storyline (even though they don't) which GB doesn't as seen by GB2

My guess on the plotline is they catch ghosts, make some humorous quips, ghosts break free from their compound turning the movie sexual icon into the baddie and city turns to turmoil. You know, the plot to the original one.

I am a massive fan of Wigg and McCarthy (don't know the other 2 to give an opinion) and they have received unfair hatred for just being in a movie.

If it's anything different I'll eat a ghostbuster hat.

This movie may be a piece of shit but the anger months before it came out was clearly about the all women cast. 'Ruined childhood memories' etc is just a cover.

As opposed to the wholly original "protag gets powers, struggles with them, learns to handle them and saves city against villain X" plot?

Get you're just playing devils advocate, but even that argument doesn't stand up.

Maybe they are ruining childhood memories BY casting women double entendre

I don't find Wiig or McCarthy funny in the slightest. McCarthy was gold in the Gilmore Girls..... has a bit part in Bridesmaids and has stereotyped her way through movie role after movie role ever since.
Give me Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling etc and I'd be a lot more receptive to the idea.

For me I have been against a Ghostbusters movie without the original cast for a long time, the video game on ps3/360/pc is the third movie.
I would have been just as against a Seth Rogan/Jonah Hill/Paul Rudd cast led movie as well!!!!!!!

I wouldn't be against the movie IF it were still a ghost chasing movie without the Ghostbusters name. They're trying to implement the current brand of "comedy" that has been around for the last 10 years or so.

If they didn't botch up the marketing - starting from the first trailer having already said it's not a sequel but a reboot, then latched on to the original by the "20 years ago" reference and using a rejigged Ghostbusters theme that heavily borrows from the original (don't get me started on the disgusting Fall out boy version! ugh).

The jokes in the trailer were not funny in the slightest.

DO NOT WANT TO SEE IT, WILL NEVER SEE IT

I certainly gave as good as I'm giving to Ghostbusters over those. Terminator more so. Terminator Genisys definitely more so.
