I find Leslie Jones far more annoying than funny on SNL, Kate McKinnon isn't much better, she's like Fallon always laughing in the middle of her own sketches.

I think it can be agreed this movie would be bad no matter who they cast, but this news is still incredibly nauseating.

Well...yeah. His character did basically nothing.

Yeah he was just the average guy, he also played the straight man to the other threes more zany personalities.

Yeah I think they completely missed what the Winston character brought to the group other than being black.
Just like they may have gone McCarthy because Aykroyd was the tubby one and not because of the childlike qualities he brought to Ray.
I'm really not sure how McKinnon will be able to fit in I assume she's got the Egon role don't think she can pull of Ramis's weirdness and dry humor.
About the only one I can see bringing the same sort of feel to their role is Wiig who can probably pull off the sarcasm of Venkman.

The big problem is that at least Venkman, Egon and probably Ray was just Murray, Ramis and Aykroyd playing themselves.

Which may well be the best way for this movie to work.

I'm not so sure about this one, I mean they're just a bunch of guys (or girls in this case) running around catching ghosts in a very simple way.

The first one was good because of Egon's and Ray's absolute geekyness and Venkman's sleeze and the second one cut back on that and suffered because of it, I doubt this one will have any of those aspects. I think of this like "Teen wolf" in that the first was original and without the pressure of expectation the cast had chemistry and the story worked.
I can see McCarthy trying to hard to be loud and outrageous (as she does) and Kristen and Leslie will have tight suits but that's about it, Rick Moranis also added something to the original that is unique and that EPA agent was perfect too.

I'm going to show my age here and say that the song from the original (who you gonna call...GHOSTBUSTERS!!!) was also what helped make it a hit, that song was quite big when it came out. I remember when we were little a friend had the cassingle and we played it all the time.

Seriously...are they going to beat scenes like this?


But if you feel sad about this movie destroying a happy memory of your childhood, check this out it at least gives you something to hold on to.
