That's how the regressives work.

Create a scene or situation where by even if you wish to comment because of how shit it is, you say nothing for fear of being labelled something negative by one of those SJW spazs.

im partial to the left. and in no way a sjw. but there's something that's preventing me from commenting, and the reason may be what you outlined. i shouldnt feel this way as we live in a democracy and should be able to speak our mind. however, i do draw the line at sexist, homophobic or racist statements....but yeah, its a personal thing.

i think say women who decry negative statements on this film because it's "misogynistic etc" fuel the debate rightly or wrongly. totally accept injustices women have faced in the past, and reckon society is changing for the better. i think perhaps im a little skeptical given these days the internet is full of opinion (ok) but also when you see men being positively affirming women online for everything they do, part of me feels their messages are for one reason only - to get into that woman.

God the knee jerk reaction to this is priceless.
Middle aged men is clearly not who this movie is targeted for so don't sook if its not to your liking.
By simply existing, it in no way ruins/tarnishes the originals, if you love the originals (which i do) simply go back and watch them. No one is making you see the re-imagining, so don't, you don't have to like it, and thats cool, but carrying on and on about a movie that you probably won't see is pretty childish, or choosing to see it, just to bag it out.

If that is the case then it shows what a bunch or morons the people who made and funded the film are. It's getting a crap tonne of negative press from a lot of women as well.

With that in mind who exactly is their target audience?

Teens. They'll watch any 'blockbuster' release over holidays.
There not morons because they've done a re-imagining you dont like. Again, its simple, don't watch it. By simply being out there it in no way affects you or the originals.

Who is it targeted at? If it didn't have the Ghostbusters name most people would be like WTF is this?

The same people that go to see other Melissa Mccartney/Kristen Wiig movies, Middle aged women and teens. Its a chick comedy flick with the Ghostbusters name.

I'm agreeing with you :) It's for a new audience. For some reason I still watch SNL a little so I don't have high hopes of the quality. It will be a summer hit though.

Obviously given the huge potential for making money due to this being a very popular movie franchise they are morons for missing a massive opportunity to rake in the cash.

Its received one of the biggest negative backlashes ever for a film by their version of "re-imagining". It's not just me who doesn't like it, it's billions of $ in potential paid customers who don't like it.

So who is their targeted demographic?

It's got such a big backlash because:
1. Its not what young/middle aged men want
2. There the most internet/keyboard vocal
Like i said, its aimed at the Mcartney/wiig audience, im sure they thought about going in a true-er direction but chose to go with a different audience, get over it. Stamping your feet and carrying on that its not what you want wont solve anything, go watch 1 and 2, there still there.

It's got a massive backlash because it looks utter shit.

You seem to be under the impression it's only men hating on it. Every female youtube review of the trailers I've seen they have been underwhelmed and stated it's not funny and looks tacky.

Once again, if you take an opportunity to use the name of a hugely popular film and then only concentrate on targeting McCartney/Wiig audiences then you're a moron with terrible, terrible business sense.

It looks like utter shit to you, its not aimed at you, stop stomping your feet like a child "I want a proper sequel" get over it.
Every female Youtuber? Every one? ok then.

How do you know it wasn't aimed at me and many others? And it's simply failed by being rubbish looking?

Can't you read? Guess not. I said every female review "I've seen". :drunk:

Her character seems like a bit of a spazz. I think the lulz are her thinking the failed crowd surf is about race/gender.
