Everybody loves that song. You're on a hiding to nothing. Pretty much just tipping a bucket of shit on yourself.
Hell, it's like the studio is determined to hype the hate for this reboot/remake/regurgitate.

Some remixes of popular themes work, like Jerry Goldsmith with Star Trek, but I guess it comes down to individual tastes.
But that Ghostbusters one. Yeeesh. Fallout Boy gives me bad flashbacks of sharing a wall with my sister.

They clearly went with the wrong option
They just couldn't help them self's not only will the movie flop (imo) but they also had to destroy one of the best themes song in movie history.

Man, I had this crazy idea for the studio to, you know, release an original song and shit.
Worked okay for GII with Bobby Brown and "On Our Own."
But yeah, all signs seem to point to "Ghostbusters Lite" - keep just enough elements from the original and give 'em a modern spin.

Seen the few previews that have been released.
I'm upset that they've been talking, drafting, re-drafting a Ghostbusters 3 for about 25 years, I lost count how many times Aykroyd and Ramis were quoted as re-writing the scripts..... and after all that, this is the movie they came up with. It's like they waited for Harold to pass away before f**king it up completely.

In terms of remakes/reboots, it's going to be the biggest pile of crap to unfortunately grace the silver screen.
I don't really mind they changed the cast, but why change the entire characters? They would have been better off making it a sequel and at least trying to tie it in with the original characters (whether they be the daughter/s of Venkman and Dana) - at least then the film would appeal to a broader audience and interest fans of the original series.
The fact they have virtually reversed over the original concept and not paid homage to it (mind you Aykroyd and Murray will be making cameos playing random characters), annoys the hell out of me.
I probably won't even get around to watching it on DVD/BluRay, let alone at the cinemas - the latter of which I definitely won't be doing.

My story for 3 is the baby in the second film is all grown up and wants to become a Ghostbuster by following in the foot steps of the original guys then you can have Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in the film passing the baton and the kid goes to create his own Ghostbusters legacy.
