I see your point, it's just five or six together at the exact same time. Seems odd. Did they interact with one another in any shape or form? Or did they appear at other times besides night?

And to change topic, I recently got a TV in my room to play my Wii on (I watch TV on a HDTV USB Dongle). Even though I believe it to be full of shit, I can't stop thinking about ITC (watch Spiricom on www.jkcinema.com or Google it, whatever). Basically it's some belief where ghosts can appear through TVs even though they are off. The TV is looking right at me as I type this, and faces me when I'm in bed too. Even though I don't believe in ITC, it can still be rather un-nerving, which I guess backs up what Kram just said.

They were just dark shadows of adults. You couldn't see any facial features or clothing or anything like that, just dark, sharply outlined shadows. They kinda just shuffled and walked around near each other in the far left corner of my room. And yes, it was only at night. There was no other paranormal occurrences either like doors slamming or cool breezes. To be honest, it wasn't overly scary.

I had a fairly scary experience on the eve of my 19th Birthday.

My parents owned a couple of houses down at Portsea (coastal town in VIC for interstaters). The house we used as a holiday house was fairly large, 1 story 6 bedroom place with a decent yard and a tennis court, anyway for my birthday I invited about 10 mates down for a weekend of booze and mayhem. I drove down on my own on the Friday evening to set the place up and buy a few supplies (mostly lager and spirits). After I had settled in I flicked on the TV to watch the footy, drink quite a few and practice my pool. Ended up having a few and thought I should stop and go to bed to be fresh for the next day. I didnt sleep a wink.

Remebering this place is a fairly large and spacious 1 story house, I went down the hall flicked off all the lights, went back to the pool room turned off the TV and lights and went to the closest bedroom (there were 5 bedrooms off this hallway). I was dozing off to sleep when I heard what sounded like footsteps through the hall and static coming from the pool room, groggily I got up only to enter the pool room with the TV blaring static and one of the lights on.

I was a bit freaked but thought I just forgot to turn both the TV and lights off, had a laugh and went back to bed. About 20 mins later there was a huge bang and I heard more footsteps run down the hallway. I was really freaked now and I jumped out of bed flicked on the bedroom light and looked out into the hallway and saw the light on down in the kitchen.

I absolutely shat myself. I ran into the pool room and grabbed a cricket bat and nervously walked around the house. I ended up just leaving the kitchen light on went back into my bedroom and left the light on and sat on my bed holding the cricket bat. I was just beside myself with fear. Throughout the night I heard footsteps and doors slamming and I could not bring myself to leave the bedroom out of pure fear.

I never saw any ghosts or visuals just the ****ing footsteps and the doors slamming. I have never really given any thought to ghosts existing but after that I will keep an open mind...........I never stayed in that house alone again.

I dont mind if your skeptical, I did have a few to drink, its just there is no explanation to what caused those sounds.

Scarily enough my Mum stayed down on her own quite a few times then stopped doing it, when I asked why she said she started feeling really uncomfortable and our dog (a golden retriever) would just start barking for no reason.........and she was a very placid dog. I told her what happened to me and she is the only one to believe me (dad thought i as just drunk).

On these 'Aliens'

Wouldn't the abduction stories be more believable if they took took the specimen from . . say from Melbourne and dropped them of in . . I don't know . . Turkey? Why would they return someone to the near or exact spot in which they found them? If bother return them at all? I doesn't make any sense

Universities don't return lab rats to the wild after they test them do they? Why would beings that have mastered interstellar travel bother?

I'm not saying that I believe in Alien abductions but it could be similar to when scientist put tracking devises on animals, they put them back in the same place.

Or it could be some teenage aliens playing with the humans, making everyone think they're crazy :p

One thing I find weird with tvs, is sometimes when I go to bed, if I open my eyes, in my peripheral vision, the tv screen is quite bright. It's not on, but it's very bright. Even when I look at it, it's bright, but not as bright as when I look in my peripheral vision.

Shit, that's scary. That's why I don't want to watch movies like Saw anymore. I've seen the first 3, and when I hear noises when home alone or in bed, I always shit myself.

Adding to my earlier post when I saw stuff when I was completely awake, I and others have had some weird dream ghosts.

If you don't follow, this is what happened:

When I was 17, my best friend and his sister died in a car accident. I was really upset as we had just left for uni and we were like brothers. Anyway in the week between the accident and the funeral I had a weird dream.
Most dreams, you have an outer body experience, or you're somewhere else, you're not in your bed. This dream, I was in my bed, exactly where I was sleeping, and my friend came and sat on my bed in the dark. He was glowing, and he smiled at me and just said "I'm OK, everything will be OK". It was so so clear, that when I woke up I wasn't sure if it was a dream or not. I still don't know, but it was so clear and it was weird I dreamt about being exactly where I was dreaming.

The other one was my brothers girlfriend. Her grandpa was sick and in hospital and she went to sleep one night. She said he dreamt she was walking along a road and her grandpa drove up next to her in his Beetle or VW, not sure which. He said "I'm off to heaven darling, do you want a lift" and she said "No thanks Pop I think I'll stay here for a while". Then he laughed and drove off. The next morning the family got the call from the hospital, her Pop had died that night.

Yeah that's a fair point.

Why don't they just put a camera in the bedroom? Oh yeah, of course they wont come then, ha, ha.

Thats just image retention, Tv's are usually set to a bright light and when they get turned off it takes a minute or two to return to full darkness.

Has anyone heard of EVP? Some of the studies that have been done are intriguing, to say the least.
Yeah. That kind of ties in with ITC. Although I believe more of EVP than I do with ITC. If you want some interesting 'evidence' to back up with EVP/ITC watch Spiricom on www.jkcinema.com. My least favourite of the series, but interesting nonetheless.

I believe that ghosts are some sort of an image from the past, much like a video recording. The image took place years ago, but somehow is replayed through time.

It is possible that we see ghosts all the time, but don't notice those that are well defined and "normal" looking, only those that are shadowy and ill-defined. For example, I saw a young woman walking along the street the other week who had a distinct 1980s appearance - her clothes & hairstyle looked more like 1987 than 2007. It is not impossible that this was an image from years ago but somehow transmitted to the present day.

Does anybody else wish they were the Ghost Whisperer??? (like... from the TV show). It would be interesting, but would probably freak me out too much!:)

I think a lot of the style of today is from back then (maybe a bit earlier etc). Maybe it was just a human chick unless it was 'ghost like'.....:D

nah...more like a particular fashion style. if there was a woman wearing a billowing dress and pissing in an iron bucket i might think twice.

I am 99.9% sure that the girl I saw was real - it was a Saturday, perhaps she was going to a retro-themed party or hens night or something.

However, I believe that ghosts are images from the past - so if you saw a very well defined ghost that looked normal, you would walk by and think nothing of it. It is the ill defined ghosts that people see and know that there is something odd.

Isn't there a full theory on this? Wasn't it some theory Einstein came up with, that kinda supports it. I'm kinda just pulling this out from the top of my head, but I remember reading something about it a while ago.

There are quite a few psychics on tv/internet which claim to commune with the dead.
One thing that strikes me is that there is no "set" way, or established single method in which these people commune with the dead. They seem to have their own effective method of opperating.
It has to be noted, and I would like to hear the sceptics point of view on this, a few of them are on the money basically all the time when it comes to facts or naming names. Interesting to say the least.
Actually seeing these people in your minds eye whether you want to or not migh no be th most pleasent of experiences if you dont wish to be a medium.

Any psychics reading this post want to comment???

Actually there's this lady back home who reads tea leaves and is quite well known (never put much in tea leaf reading myself but I guess some ppl need a focus for their 'abilities'). Had this young couple come in. Sat down and started to take their reading. Told them to get out straight away and wouldn't say why. As soon as they turned out of her driveway they got cleaned up by a truck. Apparently she'd seen it, although that begs the question that if she hadn't forced them out (apparently she'd seen it, which is why she told them to leave) would they have died? However just because she'd 'seen' their demise, doesn't mean she knew the future.

She stopped doing it after that though.

Soon after we'd moved into the house my mother currently still lives in though I went into the spare room for whatever reason and there's a desk there that belonged to my father, it's very heavy and made of Jarra. I'd just been in there and went to go back in there 5 minutes later and the desk had somehow worked it's way across by about 3 inches to block the door and I had to force it open. The only other person in the houes at the time was my mother and it's a tiny room with only one way in. Weird.

Another time a number of years ago, a mate of ours lived in this disused medical centre, it was a really big house with many rooms and a centre tower. There was this weird old woman who always used to warn us not to go into the tower, it was a bit of an effort to get into as you had to climb up into it from the top of a bench. Quite a few times some weird stuff happened in there, like my bro and another friend were watching a movie once and on the opposite couch was my brother's bag. They looked back over a few minutes later and it was on the opposite end of the couch. There was also a cat there and once it just stared into thin air in the kitchen, hissed at something and fled. It refused to come into the house after that...

A couple of you guys have mentioned the air going cold thing. Supposedly when an apparition appears, this is quite a common thing. The temperature just drops. Supposedly a weird phenomenon but not something I've experienced myself so can't obviously say whether it's true or not.

Still, strange things happen and to be honest, there's quite a lot of first-hand accounts that seem believable so for mine, it's more realistic than organised religion ;)

And the moon landing was faked as well?

I can't believe that the yes vote is beating the no . .

If someone believes in ghosts, do you think that they are more or less likely to open a thread called "Ghosts" than someone who doesn't?

I heard something similar to that. A few years ago a young girl around where I live (I didn't know her) went to a psychic..... not sure what she had done, maybe her palms read or what ever they do but I don't think it was tea bags. The psychic had seen that this girl was going to die or something & told her to leave. She was hit by a car not long after she left.

With both these tales it conveniently doesn't explain who informed everyone about the 'vision'. Ok for the first example the couple go to this lady's business. Then when leaving they get hit by a truck. I assume the 'psychic' then let everyone know that she had forseen it. Who was going to contradict her? For all we know she could have told them they were going to live a long and happy life then BAM....oh...uh...I knew that was going to happen...yeah..I told them..just ask them..oh wait..you can't.
