Ok I think Stevie is the start of a good support team around Leon which has been the talk for a while now...

So who else is out there that we think will be good contributors? I think we need at least one (probably two) more
So great that Stevie is back.

I think we need someone who is analytic like an Adem Yze.

I’d like Shaw to hurry up and hang up for the boots and become an assistant coach.

HAWTHORN — Adem Yze

  • August 14, 2019 12:00am by TOM MORRIS AND JOSH GABELICH : FOXSPORTS
Not many used the football better by foot than Adem Yze during his 14-season career at Melbourne — and that’s part of the reason why he was first brought to Hawthorn. After starting his time at the Hawks as a specialist goal kicking coach in 2011, Yze has worked as a development coach and overseen a line, before moving into his current role as head of match day strategy and opposition, where he is one of eight coaches working under Alastair Clarkson.

Yze looks after Hawthorn’s opposition preparation where his communication skills help him deliver a clear message of how the Hawks plan to beat their opponents each weekend. One player said Yze’s ability to connect with players make it easier to execute what he wants, while his pristine foot skills — he has six or seven different kicks, like a bowler has different deliveries — have helped every player on the list improve their kicking. His influence has also been felt at junior level, where he is heavily involved with suburban club Ashburton Redbacks.

What was his report card grade for this job in the season just gone?

Reading that he seems like a jet. But that also said he wants to remain in Vic for family reasons

Was second in line for the Freo role that went to Justin Longmuir. Impressed the Freo coaching panel with his presso but was pipped at the post

He is ready to senior coach. So odd to move as an assistant unless there is a carrot

Thanks. I guess he didn’t move on... was pushed out the door. One view is Dew wanted him out.
