Do you think Gibbs will be an Adelaide player by the end of this trade period?

They paid massive money for a guy who was doing nothing and gave up a first and their captain, that's going all in.
C'mon, you must know that's a garbage point.

He was a massive, obvious number one KPF. He was young and the Bulldogs got him thinking they were five years away from competing, and to change the conversation around how much of a train wreck their team was.

This was a trade for the future. They got him for a pick five and a senior player who wanted to leave anyway. Very good deal.

You must be in the Bulldogs inner sanctum to know exactly what they were thinking.

Perhaps they knew a bit more about their list and knew the young talent they had coming through

Wonder if Carlton could use Wigg. Dont see a future for him at the crows. He was a 2nd round pick wasnt he and he goes ok.

Gibbs for Wigg and a third?
And have Carlton laugh at the offer....
He'll still command a 1st Pick, whether you personally think it or not.

They'll be able to sell it based upon mental wellbeing. "Bryce did his best for his club and family, but it's clear that he needs to put his family first and we will certainly facilitate and encourage that." Bryce is a cruiser, I'll be shocked if his year is much better than the average of his first 2 games. Carlton will likely be in a good position to look like they give a shit come trade time. But they're mostly just completely incompetent at every level.
Carlton don't have to sell anything...he's contracted and he'll still command plenty to pry him loose whether you think he's worth it or not.

They didn't do it for premiership or bust in the next 3 years though
That's right.

If it's a bad call they have to live with it far, far longer than we would have with Gibbs. About double the coin for twice as long.

Going after Gibbs would have been a much lower risk for us.

I didn't say I knew what his role was like you did, I said I saw him cooling rioli, as did a few other posters. This is evidence that points to your statement that he was a pure wingman being full of shit. That's all it is.

So you have access to the down the ground replay that shows what every player is doing? you're full of shit.
Mackay wasn't cooling rioli.

I don't know what you think you saw or if you even saw anything at all, but he wasn't on rioli any more than I was

Is that what they told you?
Everything I listed was facts.

14th.

Coach being sacked. Captain abandoning the team.

You're clinging to this example and you're clearly wrong. If you want to prove your point you're going to have to come up with something else.

I watched a bit more last night, I saw Rioli run a few metres past Mackay twice, is that cooling?
He stood Rioli a few times at stoppages. You can see that clearly.

Personally, I just thought that was for those stoppages, not a coach's instruction.

Of course, you can't know that for sure. You're speculating as much as Pdub.

All true until your last sentence which is your opinion, it's all you have. You have no idea how they rated their list internally.

The fact they sacked their coach for underperforming might give you a clue, that and the talent made the finals and won them a flag 2 years later. But hey, your opinion carries more weight than history.
