All year i have stuck up for this guy thinking he has potential. HE has none. He is nervous near the footy and amazingly half the time his disposal is shit. Not one good player. Whitnall stuffed it up everytime in the 1st half. Fish and Eddie were no where to be seen. Bentick got alot of it but he didn't change the game. Sentanta was bad. Unfair to judge hammo against two of the best ruckmen but our ruck departemnt is shit. Grigg hasn't shown anything. Waite was pretty good. Murphy did zip. Hard but true.We had no forward option besides waite without fev. Missed houlas class and lappin would have played on sansbury who smashed us.

The poor bastard is in a really crap team. If Jesus and Buddha were in our team we would still be losing.

Gibbs is 17 FFS. He would of played ever game this year. Most 1st year players get a game or two to rest.

How can you say his disposal is shit. Are you on drugs??? When they is someone to kick to he has pin point accuracy.

Based on your theory Jack Riewoldt should have played every game this season & perhaps Leuenberger should have played more games given Brisbane only having Cameron Wood to back up Jamie Charman. It takes a very good effort for any first year player to play every game. Normally injury or fatigue sees first year players miss games.

It isn't a question of how easy it might be to get into our side, it is whether or not a first player has the stamina/motor to see out an entire season.

BTW, you seriously need to get rid of that grey cloud that hovers permanently above you. Are you on Prozac or something similar?

you cannot alwasy take it out on the teams lack of skill, that was (if my calculations are corrects) he youngest ever carlton side!! North had stars llike simpson, archer, grant,petrie(has shown great stuff)...so if you add it all up, it was like U/11 vs. U/16! Fair cop. Still think these young "kids" (****, I hate that term) have the world in front of them and should have to be brained with a shovel to keep them out of the team. Were things so different when T. Watson debuted at 15 odd? I can't remember whether or not he was rested during his first season. Credit where it is due but playing every game seems more like a young players dream than anything onerous to me.

First and foremost, it was stupid for some fans to laud him before the draft as the 'Great draft pick ever" - and nonsense like that.

But you can see that he does have the talent - he just needs to get some wins into them. His plight reminds me of Hodge early on in his career. Both had 'another' midfielder excelling early on in their career (Judd and Selwood respectively), which put undue stress on Hodge/Gibbs to perform well very early on in their careers.

It'll take time - but watch Gibbs start performing in the near future. He's got the class and poise to make it big.

Has played 21 H&A games, plus the 4 NAB Cup games as well, in arguably the worst team in the AFL. A pretty good effort if you ask me.

I'm not so sure what the big deal is. I thought Gibbs was OK yesterday. He's going to become a superstar. I view the escalating opposition supporter bitter-venom directed toward our young team as a clear sign of talent-envy. A positive sign in fact. Those opposition supporters with the least talent in their younger player group, tend to bleat the most. Good for a laugh.

Gibbs is GOOD. I like the kid & hope he becomes a Gun, not just a good player.

Has had a good season in a shit team.

My only issues are he has missed quite a few set shots for goal, for someone so skilful it has to be a mental/confidence issue.

Also would like to have seen him run & carry a bit more.

That aside, Gibbs lack of leg speed worries me... he also seems very conscious of the physical presence of players around him, seems to worry him a bit, which worries me.
