All year i have stuck up for this guy thinking he has potential. HE has none. He is nervous near the footy and amazingly half the time his disposal is shit. Not one good player. Whitnall stuffed it up everytime in the 1st half. Fish and Eddie were no where to be seen. Bentick got alot of it but he didn't change the game. Sentanta was bad. Unfair to judge hammo against two of the best ruckmen but our ruck departemnt is shit. Grigg hasn't shown anything. Waite was pretty good. Murphy did zip. Hard but true.We had no forward option besides waite without fev. Missed houlas class and lappin would have played on sansbury who smashed us. :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::eek::thumbsdown:

FFS, would everyone get off the kids back. If he wasnt the #1 pick you'd be saying what a great year he's had. He's been as consistent as anyone in the side. And he has said himself hes getting tired after a long year. Give the kid a break.

it's way to early to write him off. i must admit though i am a bit dissapointed with his first year. maybe my expectations were to high but.....

First year player, give the kid a break. WC have had plenty of players who got bagged early on in their career for being no good, then they turned out to be stars. Embley, Glass and Hunter are a few examples.

Give the kid some time, he'll find his feet at AFL level soon enough. :thumbsu:

Gibbs is in his first season. I cant think of one player whose first season was perfect. Get off his back.

Agree on most of the others- still waiting to see SOMETHING with Grigg, just a glimpse of something decent, but he hasn't delivered.
 
From an outsider's point of view...
What more can you expect from a 1st year player. You can't have him come in and expect him to take a hold of a match like Judd or J.Brown can. Give him a few more seasons and you will have a star on your hands.
 
Geez, we like to react on this board. No stamina many of our supporters. It was a massively inexperienced side and they lost their way many times. I thought Gibbs was alright today actually and Murphy was all class as per usual. Must have watched a different game.

Grigg has poise. His break through the middle to stuff it down Carlos' throat for a set shot goal in the first quarter was precise.

There have been some really bad threads this week, but this is pretty ordinary.

This guy could just about be playing under 18's.
So what if ATM he can't exert a lot pf physical pressure.
He was in and under today getting little touches, did some beautiful work. Kicked a nice goal, tripped over another gimme.

What a stupid post. Bryce is a quality player, but he's not the finished article yet, he doesn't have a body where he's ready to come in and dominate. Don't forget that he is still eligible to be playing under 18s footy this year...he's very young, he doesn't have the AFL body yet, and don't forget he's playing in a very ordinary side.

He will be a very, very good AFL player, but he needs a solid pre-season or two, so that he's fit and strong enough to play in the centre, which is where he's best. A strong, fit, confident Gibbs will be bloody good. Just you wait and see

being a bulldogs supporter, you should know better than anone else that the first season doesn't mean much. iirc cooney's first year wasn't anything special but now he's delivering in spades, if gibbsy turns out as good as cooney is i'd be rapt and i think gibbsy has the added quality of great leadership (and i'm not saying cooney doesn't i just don't spend any time at bulldogs training to know any better).
