Great for us .....not sure Gibbs Manager will agree to that reduction ? ......Gibbs manager will want his cake (forward payment) + eat it too (the original $650K per year)
Is this example right:
- Gibbs had $650k per year for 5 years ($3.25 million for the full contract)
- Carlton pay extra in the first two years at say $900k ($1.8 million cf $1.3 million if paid equally)
- The contract has 3 years and $1.45 million remaining on it. ($483k per year)
- Gibbs breaks the contract and leaves for Adelaide and doesn't have to repay any of the $500k overpayment?
- He can then renegotiate the remaining 3 years with Adelaide?
