Cant we just use our 2nd and a later pick to add the points together? Or is that not how it works anymore?
No, you have to use the next one.
Now, if your next pick would mean you're paying too many points (with the discount), then you get the excess added to the following pick, and it potentially moves up the order.

Reckon we will see a result today, but I doubt this deal is holding up our GWS deal. We will have multiple scenarios in play with them depending on which pick we use. Also talk that we might get Geelong's 2017 1st for Tuohy and our 2017 2nd and GWS probably hold 2017 picks in higher regard right now.
SOS probably has an idea of which scenario he would prefer and is just waiting to see how the rest of the chips fall, but I would expect that a GWS deal could get done quite easily in the last minutes tomorrow, so no stress there.
I thought the talk was also that Calrton would get our 2016 and 2017 1st for Gibbs and their 2017 2nd. Are Carlton going to cut their 2017 2nd in half and give it to both Geelong and Adelaide? :p

Bah, I'm confused. Just end this farce and do the damn deals. This trade period needs to be cut down to a single week in order to make these people focus on getting business done instead of all the posturing and d*ck waving.

I don't think Geelong can trade their 2017 first round pick.

Need to use two in a four year period and they've already traded away 2015 and 2016 first round picks.

Interestingly, suppose pick 6 was used to bid, and the matching club held seven and 8. With the discount, 1400 points needed to match, so pick 7 used, and 244 points added to pick 8, which makes it pick 6, and the Universe implodes.

Kornes is claiming we were going to take 13 into the draft if Gibbs didn't happen.

That's ... disappointing to hear if accurate. Makes it sound that we weren't too fussed on going for big targets until Gibbs fell in our lap?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
SOS is probably thinking if some Crows supporters are happy giving up two first rounders maybe I should ask for more.

I still hold hope that itll get done today.
Carlton need 13 for the GWS boys they want.
No we don't. I'm so sick of reading about a pick 13 for two injury prone players when other injured and uninjured GWS players go for peanuts. Fun fact, Gibbs had missed less games in his career through injury than both Marchbank and Pickett. He is also a proven gal footballer.

don't mind that - better than paying big overs
Could be our way of messaging that "we are not bluffing either - take it or leave it" ?

I live in hope. But we need to burn some money if we want to get better - we need 'sudden impact', which sounds like something between a van damme movie and a fertiliser for roses.

Kane might be on the money too,,
LOL 310 pages for this?

If that happens, then BF Adelaide Board, we have failed in our job!
