Gibbs has kicked 11 of those 18 in the last 6 weeks...you know, since he actually started spending time up forward.
I've noticed recently that Collingwood posters really struggle to maintain a progressive linear discussion. You're all so keen to argue on behalf of your guy, you've forgotten to slow down and think things through.
It was pretty obvious that my quoting Gibbs goals had NOTHING to do with a comparison between him and Beams, so it's really quite bizarre that you've made this leap that I am somehow basing a comparison on that. I mean ... really
Probably best you read the comments being replied to before shooting off on an irrelevant tangent. In this case, they flowed on from the disproved Magpie posters claims of Gibbs unaccountability - "I think he is accountable but not an attacking midfielder/forward like I would expect of a number draft pick". Hence, goal kicking figures were provided to show that Gibbs does indeed compare favourably enough in this regard.
It seems a lot of Magpie fans are just plucking their "insights" from thin air or Bay 13. The reality of your claim is that contested and uncontested possession averages of Beams and Gibbs are pretty similar. Is Beams a Jason Gram clone too?
The biggest question this thread has thrown up is definitely ...

On topic Beams of course, though not by much Gibbs is improving but Beams is improving more, although hampered by not getting enough midfield time to shine because Ball, Pendlebury, Swan and Wellingham are all rated in front of him at Collingwood.

I'm not sure. I initially thought it was, but all I've seen over the last couple of pages are Magpie fans going off on tangents - including a fair bit about Goddard - and making stupid claims without a shred of support. It's resembling a Bay 13 shitfest more than a reasoned debate. Don't get precious that someone has decided to pass comment on it.

Jeeze monkey its not all about you you know. Most fans push their own players with little or no backup evidence - its what being a fan is eh?
At least Pies supporters have a slight excuse in those players being premiership players HOWEVER before you get hot under the collar that doesn't automatically make them perfect players.

When a Magpie poster claims Gibbs is an unaccountable HBF, despite him playing an accountable midfield role against numerous opponents this year, including your very own team, the question has to be asked - Do Magpie fans actually watch football? A pretty reasonable question under the circumstances and yet you object to this also, saying I play the man. What is with this fear of accountability?
