There seems painfully few words in all training reports on him. This time last year his former, Murphy, was getting plenty of forum space.

Anyone know how the blokes doing?

Doesn't bother me if we don't hear about him, because it means we won't put unneccessary pressure on him, and that he will be a nice little surprise with whatever he manages to do in the senior team if at all :)

Yeah because he has hardly had any media or anything.

And whether you like it or not you will be expecting and comparing to Murphy.

Hopefully he fits in well and plays well or else he is back to SA.

Considering the amount of press he got in the lead up to the draft, surely it has to be a good thing that he is out of the media focus for a while, and he can concentrate on doing what he does best, and that is playing footy.

Maybe we should have a lookalike contest with his picture in TheBlueRoom.

The little I have read is that he uses both sides well, unlike the other recruits and had a top 5 finish in the time trial. Other than that it has been quiet.

well, the couple of times i've been to training, his foot skills have been exemplary, on both sides of his body. Most of the time he just goes about his business, does all the right things

I think it is a good thing that he doesn't dominate the training talk:)

To me it just means that with player improvements and our new additions one player doesn't standout anymore:thumbsu: We now have a number of youngsters to get excited about rather than just a few.

Gibbs has down everything right and his disposal is exceptional:thumbsu:

Totally agree. He will get more talk around the NAB cup!
I prefer to hear little about him mid week, and let him do all the talking on the field when he plays!!

The fact we are not gushing over this kid says less about him, and more about our list.

When Tex first arrived he was the choosen one, and he alone had to lift the club out of the mire. To an extent he wilted under that pressure, but thankfully seems to have made a full recovery.

Murph was the next wonder kid, and excelled with the scrutiny.

Now BG has arrived and there are a number of guys people are talking about as big improvers, and hopefully will sneak under the radar until NAB cup time.:thumbsu:

Yeah I tend to agree. Now there's about a dozen or so younger players with a lot of talent, and potential on our list, which is diluting the focus a bit. Can only be a good thing from Gibbs point of view, although I have no doubt he'll attracting a heap of media attention when his debut approaches. I thought the promotion of Murph last year was a bit over the top, but he handled it with style as per usual. Pretty sure the attention wont bother Gibbs too much. :)

I did read in the paper that when they had the time trial
on the first day back Bryce finished in the top 5 and then
he went back to help a struggling Cain Ackland.

Make him captain:thumbsu:

Any chance you can give us some points on what he said?

Sorry didn't listen to close but a few point I got were that he is loving it. Not home sick, he feels it really hasn't sunk in that he's in Melbourne as he's been back to Adelaide for Christmas etc. Will now see how he goes as it will be months before he can come back.

Been spending time with Fev.... alot of the stuff of late about him is just media hype etc.

Sorry all i can remember someone else maybe able to add more.

Well, good to hear that he's enjoying his time in Melbourne, at the very least.
