Tonight we witnessed the dawning of a champion. Where are the doubters now? Even Dwayne Russel was quiet.

Gibbs will be our next brownlow medalist, mark my words.

He has arrived.

Commeth the hour, commeth the man!

I ask you all and any collingwood maggots could Thomas and Pendlebury have helped drag their team over the line like that 5 goals down at 3/4 time on the road... cause they ____ing couldnt the soft *****.

Enjoy your win, Regarding Pendlebury look back to the final against West Coke in Perth .
Next week will be a cracker.

Pendlebury maybe could but Thomas is a frontrunner, not sure what game your referring to but ____ off to your own board anyway and yes it will be on next week

SEN just announced Gibbs restricted Cornes to 9 POSESSIONS!

Coming of age game by Gibbsy!

Cornes did only have 9 but when Gibbs was actually tagging him, i'd say it was more like 4 or 5. There were a few stints when Gibbs wasn't on him, absolutely smashed that arrogant prick.

could see it from his first game, very composed playing anywhere from full back when cornes was sitting in the goalsquare to in the midfield and up forward... ABSOLUTE STAR :thumbsu:

Was outstanding tonight, tore Chad a new one, even played at Full Back on him for a fair while, matched him in the air, on the ground, in most of the physical clashes with him too.

This game could be the making of your number 1 picks. Kreuzer was great in the last qtr, Murphy was outstanding all game and Gibbs kept their match winner to basically nothing.

Great game, well done

i concur, what a terrific game by gibbsy. cornes got most of the 9 possessions when gibbs was off the ground too. it's great to see that the team has real heart.
a few tough, hard balls that were won by gibbs, grigg and russell show that they are developing well. congrats to teaguey and lappin too.

Where are the people whinging and complaining that he is being played too negatively.........that he should NEVER play as a defender or tagger?

Anyone? :o;)

Pfft. I called it last week. :D

He's taken his game to another level the last few weeks - as I said after the Geelong game, I thought it was the most promising game he's played for the club. His game today was just as good, albeit a completely different role.

Let's not forget that barring Kreuzer, Gibbs is the youngest player on our senior list. He really is playing well beyond his years.

Well done on the win :thumbsu:

I've read a few threads regarding Gibbs the 'squib' but I've never regarded him as such at all, was beginning to think that there was something I was seeing that others weren't (apart from Carlton supporters of course).

Anyway, great game by the young lad, and what a comeback!

(P.S- Good to see Judd is still doing what he does best - lifting up a side)

After i saw Bannister not named i had a feeling Ratten would give Gibbs the job on "the arrogant pr*ck". He was outstanding today and one of his nicknames should be "Mr Fix It" from now on IMO. He can play anywhere and do any job he is asked.

Definately would love to see him given more of an attacking role in the midfield because his disposal is the best in the club IMO, especially by foot. Should be given the odd defensive job on the difficult match-ups though.

Ironically enough, that sounds very similar to a young Chad Cornes. Different players, but Chad Cornes' versatility is one of his greatest strengths and although he's dangerous with the footy, he does do a job now and again (his games on Adam Goodes being most notable).

Yeh most supporters still just refer to that Milne incident but surely tonight's and other effort has stripped him of this tag...
