Hansen who played in defence for the power in the GF is he eligible for
the draft? and also Dowd(or similar name) for that matter.

Lachy Hanson is currently with the AIS, but is not eligible for this years draft, but definetly next year, I would think he will be top ten next year.

Only what you read...oh yeah ;)

Serious question though, if Ellis is their first picked, presume Thomas won't be far behind as their second draftee. Is it then a case of third being between Pendlebury, West and Eddy? I'd go West ahead of Pendlebury.

Yeah, I'd say it's pretty much a look to go Ellis, Thomas, West, Pendlebury, Eddy.

Tom Dowd is eligble. he went to school with jarryd roughead, but focused on his studies last year instead of football

On potential I'd rate it Ellis, Pendlebury, Thomas, West then Eddy. Many people would have Thomas ahead of Pendlebury. Would be very surprised if West as a 197cm ruckman is drafted ahead of Pendlebury. It's all down to personal opinion, very open. Eddy seemed to perform very well at draft camp, so those five should all be drafted.

The Gippy state screeners are 'heartbreakers', show good signs one week then not the next, worthy rookies but some clubs may draft them. That's just one opinion. :)

A mate of mine knows why they are hot and cold................... he says its because they are PUMPKINS. Best left in the veggie patch.

The Under 18 carnival showed their true potential............they didn't want to be near the footy that week.

Put 'em in the oven and they go soft. Leave 'em in too long and they get burnt.

Great win to Gippy in the GF, but that Murray rabble..........they must be putting too much water on the veggie patch.

Dowd should definatly be drafted, runs hard at the ball, is a dedicated team man and worth a punt later in the draft. Pendlebury is overrated and not really worth drafting, let him play next year and really see if he's worth it..

ex basketballers aren't always my fancy either.

But I can see how clubs would like how he moves and all that "scope for improvement". What he did this year was pretty decent, they'd be banking on him getting even better as he gets more into footy.

Very well put. I hear that his brother Kris will be doing pre-season with Essendon and see where things go from there.

Does Essendon have a basketball team up and running, or is it East Keilor?

If they took the roof off basketball stadiums no one would bother playing the silly game.

Mothers take their sons to basketball because it is comfortable.

Real men, even at 10 years of age, get outdoors and play FOOTY, rain , hail or shine.

Basketball is not a sport, it is a boring commercial activity just the same as F1 motor racing......................you can't just turn up and play..............you have to buy your way in.

Don't get down on yourself Footyman, just because your mum made you bounce a round ball on a wooden floor.
chewy-on-your-boot do you ever say anything nice about anything or is this you and the way you are. If you think about it I bet you could name a few AFL Footballer that started as Basketballer. Other sports have they place and Yes! I am one eye footy but I have respect for other sports........

I guess you are right TALENTED BALL PLAYER. I'm just a black and yellow negative.

But I can name lots of really good AFL footballers who never played boringball.

Footy is the greatest game in the world and I have lots of respect for other sports..........boringball is not a sport, it is a commercial activity that deserves the wrath it gets from sports lovers.

Boringball would not survive outdoors, or without silly t-shirts.

You could improve the sporty-ness of boringball if you made the ball not so round and the floor not so smooth. Add tackling and I might even go.......but only once.
