Lets throw down the gauntlet to the bloke and see how he goes, IMO if he can handle Jon Brown he can be a permanent CHB for us and move Hunter as a permanent FF.

We wouldnt lose a massive amount of drive from defence cos he is more then capable of providing it.

If it dont work then just switch things around, it couldnt hurt to give it a go and if Graham is ever gonna be given a big job then I think this week is the time, Brisbane down on form are vulnerable and we always play well against them it seems.

Graham for CHB!!!!!, whose on board :thumbsu:

hmmmm does have merit but i would be a little concerned as Graham, despite being tall and having a reasonably mature body size, is not near as big or as strong as either Brown or Hunter (and for that matter Hunter's body size isn't on the same level either).

But i too think it's probably not a bad time to throw down the challenge to Graham for the first quarter at least, and if things aren't working we can always move Hunter back to CHB.....

As a neutral the only way I can see the Lions getting close to winning is if Brown absolutely dominates. I'd have the best possible opponent on Brown from the get go, why give a struggling team a sniff when they are down?

It's a good chance to give Graham a big job in a game we're likely to win anyway.

I think its important we give Graham a try, even though were playing well and are successful were still at that stage were we are blooding youngsters, look at Rosa Graham Waters, all played about 10 games or less.

Graham is a better matchup for Brown then Glass IMO, Glass is not a CHB and will get killed cos Brown will just push him out of his comfort zone.

Not only is Brown big and strong, he also moves very well as seen by his stint in midfield last year (injuries have hurt him there though). Hunter is the best option IMO. Brown is a monster but Hunter is very strong for his size. Hunter moves well and also has the ability to hurt Brown on the counter.

You just described Graham down to a tee. As far as im concerned Graham is just a taller version of Hunter, IMO we lose little by playing him at CHB instead of Hunter cos Graham and him are very similiar players.

Hunter has never played on Brown before and i doubt Woosha will start now. Glass always gets done over by him as well and IMO Graham is the best matchup regardless.

That's harsh on Hunter/massive call on Graham. Anyway, you lot know more about the Eagles than I obviously.

If Worsfold thinks Graham is the best match up for Brown than he should go with him. I just wouldn't pick an opponent for their only match winner based on giving them experience. Fine if you have control of the game but no need to give a sucker an even break.

BTW I'd have thought that Glass would line up on Bradshaw.

Graham is the perfect match, many times last season we were desperate for a 3rd quality tall defender and He really looks to be perfect for the job

If Richmonds depleated tall defender stocks can Jono Brown to 2 goals then I'm quite sure that Graham can do a good job on him as well

Also look at Brown VS the hopeless Kepler Bradley and he managed to keep him to 3 goals and made him get all of his touches on the wing.

I was really impressed with Grahams game against Thommo on Sunday and would really like Worsefold to back him for the entire game (unless Brown has 4+ first half goals)

I can't even recall the last time Brown played against us. It always seems as though he's injured or suspended by the time our games come along.

Should be fun :)

No no, Lynch is the perfect matchup and will start on him.

I strongly agree Lynch has the big body and won't be scared to use it, and one thing you can guarantee if Lynchy get's it the kick is going long and out of trouble.

EDIT: Graham wouldnt be scared just not as physical as Lynch yet and Graham up foward would stretch brisbane as well.

Graham will get absolutely smashed if he lines up on Brown...........He doesnt have the wind tank, strength or mobility to go with him..........He wouldnt last a quarter. I think Graham is suited to the bigger forwards who dont move as much such as Thompson and Petrie last week. I think Brown would be an absolute nightmare for him but thats just my opinion.

For mine its imperitive we line Hunter up on him...........Perfect match up for Brown.

Put Graham on him.
Brown might kick 8 but we will win by 5-6 goals easy.
Good learning experience for the young man.

Do you want Hunter to play forward in that case ?
Yes

Hunter has proved it on several occasions that he can be succesfull at FF, while time and time again Lynch has proved that he does not have what it takes to be a regular goal kicker, which IMO is what we need the most.

jon brown... the biggest dilemma this week. we can thank our lucky stars that he is out of form and suffering OP or whatever the hell is going on, because realistically we dont have any kind of answer for an in-form jon brown.

hunter is the closest. hes tough, as quick as brown, a top mark and just a damn talented footballer. he gives away height and talent, but still...

lynch...short answer...no. hes tough enough, body on body, but hes a ways short of the whats necessary.

glass...maybe. hes got the speed and the defensive mindset. hes been given bigger jobs and done well.

graham, has the attibutes, if not the skill and experience.

personally, id play graham on him for as long as we can afford, then switch hunter back if it looks like graham getting schooled by brown is going to effect the result of the game

Agreed, and I think Hunter would do a good job on him. Last time we played Brisbane though, Brown ended up in the midfield. I don't recall who went with him.

Well after his recent efforts maybe we could run Lynch with Brown if he goes to the midfield !;)
