I couldnt climb Ayers Rock because an elder had died, f-ing gay....it should be all of ours..
Let me get this right. You are p'd of because you were inconvenienced. Right? Don't you think that you're being a tad selfish?

Besides which, the local indigenous groups do not like people climbing Uluru. Despite that, they tolerate it except on these rare occassions. Thus, providing it to "all of us."

I'd love to know how many aboriginals went anywhere near the place before it became a famous tourist attraction worth Millions?????
Perhaps it has something to do with secret womens business hmmmm

The Ponsford stand was part of my cultural heritage but they still knocked it down!

Would you have been happy to let people climb on the roof and take Photo's? What about the Opera House, or the War Memorial in Canberra? Try to look at it with a slightly balanced view.

Sorry Big Fella the Ponsford didn't really have a roof but if it had I would gladly have climbed it myself. My point is that I believe that Ayers Rock is significant to ALL Australians just like the Opera House & therefore should belong to everyone. This romantic notion that Aboriginal people have some type of mythical connection to the land is just that MYTH. We all have places that are special to us....food for our soul (so to speak).

What a selfish bastard you are! For a few days a year they may ask people not to climb on the Rock, IMO they are being very tolerant to let people climb on it in the first place, but a few days a year and you whinge and moan about it.

How about when a very close relative dies, we get the aboriginals to come in and jump all over their grave and celebrate. You wouldnt like that now would you.

Have some respect buddy and stop being so selfish! There are thousands of people who would love to have the opportunity to just go to Ayers Rock, at least you have had that opportunity!

Yes, and one particular group of aboriginals has been around the rock for a long time

The last time I was in Paris we went to the Eiffel Tower and 2 american women started an argument with the attendent because they couldn't get to the third level, apparantley it was something as silly as a safety concern because the wind speed was too high. The attendent explained this in perfect english 3 times, which the response from the two yanks was why not (again) and why couldn't the attendent speak perfect English. The line was enormous and people were getting a bit p*sed off, so some Pom yelled out a line of expletives and in no uncertain terms either respect another countries culture or go home, a large cheer went up and the Yanks disappeared.

IMO no-one except for the Aborigines should be allowed to go within 50km of Uluru. If it wasn't for the bit of income local aborigines generate from tourists, I'd be even more forceful in this belief.

FFS - someone can fly over it in an ultra-light once a year and take some professional photos for others, but that's it.

Clear out and have some respect for this sacred site.

And stop calling it Ayers Rock - it's ULURU!

Lovely, tell me again why you don't leave this country? Ayres rock should be shared by all, unless their is darn good reason for NO ONE to go their.
