it has been reported that sydney wanting to give up saddington, fosdike n davis for the bulldogs pik 6....just thinken i would give pik 9 for fosdike and saddington, a midfielder and a much needed chf/chb...we give pikk 9 for two good players..

gimme sum feedback on wat ya's think

no way would I go for that

It is much more importan to get a quality youngster and contest for premierships in the future (i.e. st kilda) rather than trading picks away.

Saddington will be coming off a knee reconstruction and will be risky - who knows if hell go down again?
Fosdike is definitely not worthy of a 1st round pick
Davis - Prone to injuries + he left Pies to go home to Sydney so I doubt he would be traded back here

With our current side, I would definitely not trade pick 9. For a side looking to win a flag within the next 2 years, trading high picks for quality players can be a way to acheive this bu not when you're rebuilding.

Just my thoughts mate :)

The question I ask is why would the Swans offer up that many players for just a draft pick ?? Could it be that they don't rate them that highly or there is an underlying injury issue ??

Fosdike is handy but no worldbeater & Saddington is not big enough in the body to hold down a key defensive position.

Besides, we should never ever trade away first round draft picks, it's virtual suicide.

What about Simmonds and T Lo for pick 9

No way.

One of the main reasons for our demise on the field in recent years has been our readiness to trade away our 1st round picks.

True, Simmonds and Longmuir would make us more competitive in the short term but do nothing for us 5 or 6 years down the track.

I have got this great idea, how about we pick some youngsters with a future and not guys who a few years left tops, barring injuires.

that would be a terrible deal for us we need young talent more then players who are average and only have a cople of years left in them that would be a major rip off for us :D

Definately keep pick 9.

More to the point I hope we get a Lance deal through to St Kilda or Geelong for ist round pick, and we use that pick to get an established player.

Eg -

Michael / 2nd round pick or Notting - Brisbane

We definately must draft a young player with pick 9, but think, how much value can some other players bring to us, rather play finals next 5 years and get close to a flag, than not play finals at all and win a flag in 10 years.
