It depends on who else is in your team. If you play a running game eg. Bulldogs than Scarlett but if you just want a "rock" you would take Glass. IMHO Glass is very much like Mal Michael in the way he plays. With the way the game is going latley though I would take Scarlett.

At least Scarlett can keep the champion full forwards to 1 goal or less in most games where Glass has to have two or three players drop back and assist him.

You must not have seen Glass play football last season. He was always one on one with champion full forwards and rarely had players dropping back to help.He did a great job (AA) Big Fev & Bazza were just about the only forwards to get the better of Glass. The grandfinal & tonight are the only real times he has had help with Hall IIRC.

Yeah well ya may want to get a few quotes from the likes of Lloyd and co. when they have said the hardest full back they've been on is Scarlett.
And 2005 when Rutten was lucky to get the All Australian from Scarlett, the Adelaide supporters were as foolish as you blokes have been when they were claiming Rutten to be the best. At least get 2 All Australians in a row and be consistant enough at the top as Scarlo has been.

pretty sure most of those quotes have been from b4 Glass has come good - Had Lloyd even had the displeasure of lining up on Glass?
like I have said, be consistant this year and get All Australian over Scarlett then we can talk.

Just askin whether Lloyd has lined up on him.
And in retrospect with Scarlett already a bonafide champ, the thread maker should have asked to base it on 2006 results if they really wanted to compare the two

What makes Glass better than Fletcher(2000), Hay(2001), Pavlich(2002) and Rutten(2005)?

wtf do I have to do with it??? I voted Scarlett - Simply stated that if he was gonna ask, he should asked about their stand out years... Dunno when Scarlett was at his best, but compare that to 2006 (Glass' best) and thats the only way you can compare them
And currently in this sense Scarlett wins

Why are cat fans so precious about scarlett ? Is this the only thing they have got to boast about ? Both are good. Glass has improved each year he has played...Scarlett has been v good for a few years ..

Darren Glass is catching up, but he still lacks the rebounding ability of Scarlett, while they're probably about even in terms of defensive stopping ability.

Pavlich in 2002 was a joke. The selectors wanted him in the side even though he played most of the season as a loose man in defence. The one occasion that year he did play fullback Richo tore him apart. It was a common joke when the teams were announced that the selectors picked the wrong Matthew as fullback.
