Glenn Maxwell and his future

Right now yes Finch is still in the side. I’ve got more of an issue with Carey opening. I’d back Finch to turn it around. In terms of captaincy I’m not sure personally I’d bring back Bailey and he can easily captain in the middle order
You wanted Finch dropped just a few days ago. In fact I an positive you said he was "useless" and "does not score fast enough".

Do you think Bailey is in the best 11 or are you picking him as a specialist captain?

Ideally I wouldn’t have Finch but I’m struggling to see a viable alternative- Short isn’t the answer.

In terms of Bailey basically picking him as a captain but he’s in form with the bat anyway

You don't bring guys into the 11 to he captain. If you're not best 11, you shouldn't be picked.

Would Bailey be much worse than Khawaja in ODI’s? My view is probably not. Happy enough with that change

Peter handscomb keeping at the world cup....hmmmmm. the bowlers would pretty much have to be hitting the stumps or the pads to be taking wickets.

Is he allowed to come back in and captain straight away? I thought there was a cooling off period??

That’s the point. Maxwell is absolutely zero chance of being captain, similarly Smith coming straight in and captaining

As soon as a regulation catch of a quality top order player goes down or say a half chance stumping that a specialist keeper probably would have taken any extra batting advantage is flushed down the toilet or worse.

T20 it's not so much an issues but in a 50 over game where the wickets are valuable no thanks.

Yep I agree. Oh btw when was the last time scarface handscomb actually scored any meaningful one day international runs that lead to victory?

He did score a couple of nice 50s, we might have won in the first one? He looked really good but imo he's still not 100% proven batting in ODIs yet.

He can field very well too. Maybe a work in progress?

If an average of 34 in ODD and 22 in Shield is very good in all forms, then yeah.

He's been good in the big bash and that's it.

He had a poor first game or two in the Shield. Was good thereafter.

Look personally I would stuff what the public thinks- Smith should be captain but that won’t happen

Smith wasn't even that great a captain, judged solely for his on-field nous. His off-field stuff should rule him out forever.
