I've stood for maybe a handful of games in my entire life. It sucks idk how ppl prefer it over sitting, my lower back kills no matter what footwear you're wearing

Stood for 20 plus years.I've stood for maybe a handful of games in my entire life. It sucks idk how ppl prefer it over sitting, my lower back kills no matter what footwear you're wearing
I much prefer standing now. Granted I'm 47 in two days and still look the same and feel the same as I did 20 years ago.Stood for 20 plus years.
Best way to roll with the action.
Jumping swaying kicking laughing singing etc etc... was the best time.
But my back was totally cooked afterwards.
Had to lean up against the bar at Gables afterwards lol.
Now i'm 57 and im thinking about standing in the bleachers again to revisit my youth lol.

What's your secret?I much prefer standing now. Granted I'm 47 in two days and still look the same and feel the same as I did 20 years ago.![]()

What's your secret?
Haha there is none. What's your secret?
I used to stand in line at 8am to get a seat on the wing. I remember saying to my step brother - watching a young Riccardi in the reserves - 'I reckon he'll play 300 games.' He fell short but he was a class above even then.
I'm too old to stand now.I've stood for maybe a handful of games in my entire life. It sucks idk how ppl prefer it over sitting, my lower back kills no matter what footwear you're wearing
People who do enjoy standing don't have lower back issues. If you have a bar to lean on - that's a bonus. Every game you mix with different people and if someone is unsociable they are easy to avoid if they turn up the next game.I've stood for maybe a handful of games in my entire life. Yeah Im 43, wouldn't say I feel 23 say that'd be a massive exaggeration but reckon I feel and look about ten years youngerI much prefer standing now. Granted I'm 47 in two days and still look the same and feel the same as I did 20 years ago.![]()
Sunscreen. EverydayWhat's your secret?
Right? Haven't always worn sunscreen but do my best now. No sunscreen to protect against kids though (few beers and a red helps but also adds to the ageing).Sunscreen. Everyday
And not having children
Been there done that many a time.I'm too old to stand now.
But I loved it as a teen/20s something.
On the wing, under the windsock.
Watching GAS.
Fantastic.
100% spot on.They are. They’re going in the new stand being built rn. Also the rooms underneath are used for gameday, but also club purposes during the week (all four programs across afl and vfl) as well as some community use (rehab/physio). New stand will also incorp local cricket too.
Out of all the people using the stadium, oppo teams come last (as they should). Thats what footy should be. Not this neutral happy clappy stuff the Melbourne clubs do
All 3 remaining roof sections are now on the ground, in various stages of completion. The final section has a different profile to the others, being deeper on one side. I guess this is the connecting piece, designed to link in with the Brownlow stand’s roof line. How will the roofs from the new stand and Brownlow connect? Looks like one sits higher than the other.
I drove past today and actually saw people working on one of them today for the first time ever. Every other time they look deserted. All 3 remaining roof sections are now on the ground, in various stages of completion. The final section has a different profile to the others, being deeper on one side. I guess this is the connecting piece, designed to link in with the Brownlow stand’s roof line.
It will be interesting to see how it all comes together.
