I’m inclined to go with the umpire who was perfectly positioned. Whole ball has to cross.

Hard to tell from the angle, but i reckon it just crossed the whole line.
If you pause the video when the ball is about 10m away, it looks as though it'll clear the line comfortably, it really died at the end of the kick.

Umpire in great position, but what did he line it up off, the post? There's no line anymore that I can see. If he did use the post, did he use the padded or unpadded bit?

That’s the highest pressure game situation imaginable and he should be commended for how he handled it. Positioned himself perfectly then made his call and stuck with it with both sets of players and fans going mental.
