He is now a gracious sportsperson who is this countrys best at what he does, did you see his interview with mcenroe after last nights game ??? He has changed very much for the better. To say he hasnt is being very ignorant.

Whilst he has toned it down a bit since his d1ckhead days he still has the tendancy to look like a dill particularly when things are not going his way eg The first round match against Norman when Norman was on top at times Hewitt was carrying on like a pork chop, disputing line calls, silly stares at the umpires and all sorts of loud outbursts.
Looking forward to seeing him against Agassi as he will be the type of player who will frustrate Hewitt

Hardly. Did I start posts saying 'go ____" to whoever philipoussis played ? NO ! They are the ones who cling on to things more than me, and that was to things that happened in teen years. Its pathetic.

Yeah, why cant the other twits at least be like you and admit he has toned down ?????? Instead of holding things done in teenage years. Weak.

You mentioned that Mandy and co. were clingers. You base this on them bagging Hewitt for his past outbursts and immaturity. Now, let's have a look at your case: You are bagging Philipoussis for his attitude and behaviour in the past. It doesn't matter if they 'cling on to it more', 'cling on to it less' or if Eric Cartman is a saint... you are still a hypocrite.

Think a bit harder; Hewitt's teen years was only a few years back, the same time-span where you post your mindless drivel about Philipoussis (talking about events a few years back). Both players have improved their attitude, but you still are a hypocrite. Do you even know what the word means? Doubtful.

We are not basing anything on him being a teenanger.
We are basing it on him being a tool, because well .. he is one!

You say it is his teenage year, but you see here in lies the problem. Hewitt of the last two years, generally has not been under a heap of pressure in matches (ie. losing) whereas in his teenage years he was.

The other day he nearly lost to Norman, and as has been mentioned he carried on like 'pork chop'.

Death stares to the umpire and disputing line calls and generally being a down right tool.

But you admitted he had improved. Its not like he is the only player who gets frustrated out on court is it ? He is not a tool. Did you see how gracious he was in his interview with mcenroe ?

Yeah but you said it............. 'hewitts teen years'. Philipoussis was in his 20s and still carrying on like a big baby. So I may be slightly hypocritical but so too are those that bag hewitt yet like philipoussis. Why cant people just admit that both players have improved their behaviour and get on with supporting them ? The hewitt haters just cant do it can they ? Pathetic.

I would just like to point out that Mark has never ever behaved badly ON COURT where he is in the public eye.

It has been his off court actions, actually only one action back in 1998. But don't let the facts get in your way.

In his 20's? Mark was 21, younger than Hewitt is now. Hewitt has improved, but he does still display some of the behaviour that he did in his teens, whereas Mark hasn't done anything than the one thing in 1998.

Yes Easty we all admit that he has improved however that does not change the fact that he is a "tool" as others have put it and that game against Norman showed him up.When he is under the pump he carrys on and sooks and moans like a spoilt brat and thats why i dont like the pr1ck not because of what he did years ago.

we've been through his antics before and it wasnt just the 1 thing.

Mark was 21, but Hewitt was a teen, which is far more understandable.
In the end, Hewitt will be known as a champion wheareas philipoussis wont be, thats what makes me smile. :D

Yes it was just the one thing.
It all came back for the 1st Round of the Davis Cup in 1998.
The whole Roche thing was also to do with that.
It is all related to the one incident. That incident was eliminated when the Scud steered Australia to victory in the Davis Cup. Something this champ Hewitt has been unable to do.

Mark was 21 yes, but that incident was isolated. Other than that he did NOTHING and that includes when he was in his teens. Whereas Hewitt did do ****e, and he still displays some of that now (whilst under pressure of losing he acts like a spoilt brat).

Hewitt will be known as a champion to who? Certainly not to me.

Remember when he called the Adelaide public idiots? You must have been in the crowd, with the way you turn on people, his performance surely would have made you go off at him.

Wimbledon winner , um, I think he is a champion.

So what if it was relating to one incident, he still carried on like a child over the weakest things. The bottom line is that he is twice the player philipoosis is and he isnt soft either.

17 career titles to 9 in half the time on the circuit. Results speak for themselves.

I didn't think he carried on like a child.

Carrying on like a child is giving the ump a death stare when a decision goes against you.

No it isnt. Carrying on like a child is making big mouth comments about a respected legend of sport who should be respected.

Are you going to take into account the fact that Phillipousis has missed 3 years due to injury and was ranked in the top 10 just before his first knee injury

LEGEND?

You're calling Hewitt a legend of the sport already.

Geez mate, get your friggin hand off it.

Face it, philipoussis is getting on in years and his injury concerns are only going to get worse as he gets towards those 30s.
Hewitt is the player to watch in future for aussie tennis, and Molik for the women.
