Watching games has for 45 years been the focus of every weekend in season. Right now in seriously weighing up the $50 I could save cancelling Kayo early.

I hate losing every week but this list has improved from last year. A strong finish or at least finding who to get rid of will finish season well.

I would say last year and year befor we didn't look in games at qtr time let alone half. Defence has mildly improved. Clearance work and patches in games where we dominante are much longer.

If we can capatilise more when we are dominant and improve ball movement off half back we will improve quickly.

In terms of players currently.

W.Dawson- still super raw and has shown both great and bad. Anotherr offseason and his only 19 will help. I probably either keep him back and send back to VFL or keep forward. either way getting experience.

Harvey Jnr- something is there. Not convinced he gets another year.

CCJ and Teakle- all the talk of CCJ getting another year and Teakle delisting may turn now... can north be that ruthless?

Banch- wasnt a day for the small forwards. Still give another couple of games.

Phillips- another Phillips game. He is there abouts without being special. I think he can have a role but not at our club. Eventually Kerch and FOS will start getting CBAs and Phillips doesnt offer anything that the others dont.

That's true. Those dinky kicks are a blight on the game but the umpires paying marks for kicks that travel less than ten metres is an indication of the incompetence of the match officials and the indifference the league shows towards lifting the game to the status of a genuine sporting competition.

On one occasion Blakey intercepted a short kick, it had probably travelled no more than eight metres (less in my estimation). Mark was paid.

As for the rest of the season: I'd actually like to see players picked in their best position and for the coaches to adopt a more basic plan. Something like, when you get the ball, try to move it forward to a player in the same jumper occasionally.
