It's a great system with 0 bugs. What are you guys talking about?

100% correct decision, learn the rules

Nope, the reviewer wasn't paying attention to where the ball actually hit the umpire and was instead following the trajectory after it hit him in the stomach which shifted it back towards the line. The showed it again just then and its clear.. It hit him earlier than it seemed I can see exactly what the reviewer was thinking, but he got it wrong. Anyway, that fact that he called it conclusive enough to overturn it is incredible enough because its at best inconclusive and should got back to the field.

The goal umpire is against the post and the ball hits him dead centre, there is no way that ball misses the post, look how thick the post is behind the umpire, it would have had to turn 90 degrees in mid air the opposite to the direction it was going to miss.

Unless they have Hawkeye tracking, and even then not accurate, you can’t overturn a decision on speculation and subjective thoughts. To overturn a decision there has to be evidence. There was no evidence.

DeGoey kicked it from 40 meters. It was no rushed snap that may catch you unaware.
Idiotic goal umpiring to let it hit you. No reason whatsoever to be on or in front of the goal line.

No it’s not, the rule is it is deemed to be whatever the ball would have done had it not hit him.

Rule used to be play on, so it wouldn’t have even been score.
And the goal umpire said it was a goal, so to overturn it you need evidence to the contrary

Goal umpire had his back to the post, he has no idea if it was hitting the post or not. I’d take umpires decision here with the same grain of salt to an NRL referee making a call on whether a ball touches the ground or is held up in a mass scrum where they can’t see. Just a guess.

Ball landed on the line and defender was nearby, he should have been on the line but probably the other side, but on the line was 100% the right spot.

You do not stand on the goal line. The goal line is in play. Goal umpires should not be in play as they could interfere with the play.
Guess what happened....

I’m not arguing that the umpire may have made the wrong call, im arguing the rules. Umpires calls stand all the time, whether they are right or wrong. It’s time some of those bad calls start going our way.
As fate would have it they returned the favour with the Cal Brown free kick within 25.

Then you don’t know much about goal umpiring! They always stand on the line, how else do you expect them to tell if the ball is touched or goes over the line?

Obviously the expectation is to get to the fat side but sometimes the ball does a 90 degree turn and you’re caught out, shit happens.

Did you see the photo? In what way is there any doubt?

Some times different camera angles can show an entirely different perspective. You’re probably right, but the fact is with the shorty camera footage they have there is no evidence that it hit, therefore umpires call. Would have been mm in it.
