Re: Cool Sim Site

Right now, I'm going thru Battlers and soon MILs renegotiating everyone's contracts.

So no one do this.
Not sure what all these new contracts will do to the MILs stadium fund, I suppose I'll know tomorrow. We used to be close to having $2 million available at the end of the season, but it'll be much reduced by all the new contracts for guys above level 8.

Re: Cool Sim Site

Needs to be done. We'll also get a few more home games and playoff home games hopefully which usually mean double the ticket and concession prices you set, so there should be enough money there to afford a stadium upgrade.

Also, if need be, right now we can do a trade between MILs and Battlers for LBs or whomever, Battlers can send a few hundred thousand dollars to the MILs.

Last day for Trades is today.

Also, with so many of my own players on the team, I didnt offer myself any contracts, so the MILs bill will be MUCH less than what I just sent out to the Battlers faithful.

As I said, we'll see what happens when the dust settles on all the offers. The reason I'm pushing revenue sharing in the forums is for the reason you outline above, some extra revenue for playoff games will see us straight.

I don't see it as too much of a drama as we can loan money for stadium expansion if need be later in the off-season.

Re: Cool Sim Site

He paid me for it.
I got a few people to pay me for doing their jerseys and team logos.
Many I did for free.
There are a lot of GG-created logos/jerseys out there, about 12-15 teams.

But there are a lot of guys already spruiking their logo creating services, have their own websites, people pay to get them, and they do great work.

All the people that come to me come from word of mouth.

If I get mega busy from just doing that stuff, I'll start charging more and for everyone, make a niche out of it.
Do you offer a finders fee? :p

I directed a guy your way last week, dunno if he found you though

Dunncrumbs Player Agency Pty Ltd would like to thank management of Aussie Battlers and Oakland MILs for their kind offers towards their small stable of players. All contracts were fair and reasonable :thumbsu:

Re: Cool Sim Site

It's ok, Manureid. The MILs cost is nothing compared to what the Battlers cost is.

Two reasons anyway...

1. All these players have been loyal and getting by. Time to honor some loyalty with fat contracts that they can now use freely on training and equipment. Many of them (Battlers) are about to or soon to hit lvl 16 equipment.

2. Gotta stop any dissatisfied people from thinking "screw them I'll go play for another team".

The MILs stadium upgrades will come don't worry. The total cost of all this for the MILs just now was like what? 350,000 roughly. That's nothing. Stadium upgrade, like I did with Battlers will cost $3m. One concession intake from a home game will level the ledger from whatever was just spent in signing bonus.

Re: Cool Sim Site

Well, we do need to stockpile money for stadium upgrades.
It takes a little time tho.
We'll really gun for that #3 or #4 seed because in the playoffs we'll get double profit for ticket and concession sales.
If we can get to about $3m by season end, we can perhaps afford 2 stands. But we'll cop it a while during off-season's daily expenses.
GLB allows teams to get in the red during the off-season anyway, as once the new season starts, and the upfront ticket sales come in, teams should get back to about $2m.

Re: Cool Sim Site

The Battlers side of it....you guys all took on shit salaries when we first started because I spent $3m towards the stadiums. With the promise that loyalty and committment to the team, skilling up, etc, would result in bigger salaries. Especially as by the end of this season everyone will be above lvl 16 and went thru a major cost hike in upgrading equipment.

The contracts from the Battlers are a "thank-you" and also in preparation for level 16. I'm not sure yet if it's even worth doing level 24 equipment. Imo, I might decide we should all boycott the equipment thing after level 16 until we see what the 'live' GLB game with all the advanced functions and stuff are. It's not worth the $2,000,000 per item at lvl 24 when all you get is +4 points and +1 tree.....AND....it costs you flex to buy as well.

Also, I'm all for us (bigfooty) owning a pro-league USA team, if we come by one. And part of that would be working with the existing players there, and also maybe moving some players across here and there. Or, getting you guys to help create some more players. We'll skip the custom after level 8 i think. Just make it free as we can for people. But if we own a third team, the idea should be that whoever buys it, should be part of the portal/network of current BF GMs -- manureid, sven, levi, me, zarko, etc.

The whole point of a Bigfooty portal of teams owned would be so that we could move players around but not gutting a team, teams helping each other because they're owned by the same ownership group, and all involved in this one monstrous thread.

With about 3:40 mins to go till the Battlers next game, I'm gonna just start a thread in the forum about tactics, just to kick things off. If anyone is interested in doing some analysis, feel free to put your comments and suggestions in there.

I'll go and do some myself anyway and put my thoughts in there over the next couple of hours.

Re: Cool Sim Site

Well with things so quiet for a change, and not much doing elsewhere, this is a good time to remind everyone to keep an eye out for the AE Tipping Comp which Woodson runs annually.

Last year, there were about 30 people involved. There were three aspects to it.

1) The straight out tipping comp, which was run on a confidence points system thru the Yaoo Sports website. Basically, with about 16 games played per week, you'd tip who you think will win a game and assign how confident you are of that win. 16 would be very confident and 1 would be very unconfident. So at the end of a week of games, you tally up how many confidence points you got right and that's how the leaderboard works. Everyone put in like $25 to join, so first and second place were given big prizemoney. Woodson is looking at getting even more people involved this year, so the prizemoney will be HUGE. $25 is nothing!

2) A 3xKO comp run manually thru BigFooty. This one was my personal favorite. What happens is every week you get to pick 3 winning teams that, again, you feel confident of winning. If you get one wrong, you lose a life. So the next week have to pick 2 teams. Get one wrong again, you lose another life. The last person standing at the end wins the prizemoney. The catch with this game is that you cannot pick the same team two weeks in a row. So it gets very interesting as you try to find those "sure-fire" winning teams when you've already used your Patriots or Cowboys etc selection the week before. I cant remember how the prizemoney worked, but there was a percentage of the AE Comp that was assigned to the winner of the 3xKO comp.

3) The AE Syndicate. This one is not a comp at all. It's voluntary, for those who want to gamble on the football. What we do is have a syndicate of however many people, and we all analyze the bets going around for that week, looking for value bets, and thru Woodson's TAB contacts etc, we use a portion of the pool of money per week to make bets. Each person gets a turn basically as well as collaborative consensus bets. This Syndicate is a separate involuntary payment to the AE/3xKO one. The aim of the syndicate is to grow the pool of money into big winnings and share it around evenly at the end of the season. So everyone puts in roughly $20, if we get 10 people, that's $200 pool used in lots of about $20 per week (roughly), and there'll be wins along the way that will immediately take our pool to like $1,000 or more. Often a winning bet can net anything from $100 to $1,000, depending on the value of the bet.

So, just a heads up from me here to all, to keep your eyes peeled for that this season. Get familiar with the term AE and what it basically means --- Woodson running tipping comps, and gambling syndicates. He's got years of experience at running these things and has many contacts and avenues.

Re: Cool Sim Site

Have you seen the Seminoles chemistry? Overall: 32. Shocking!

Agree with you gg, they are a much better team in recent weeks than their rankings and standings suggest.

They love running the ball!

Re: Cool Sim Site

No problem, happy to foot the bill.

But I really think unless there's some drastic change to the GLB admins attitude towards custom equipment then we should not bother with custom upgrade after level 16. It's gonna kill our profit margin and another way to siphon dollars out of us charging Flex Points.......and all for what? 4 extra skill points and +1 on a tree. Big deal.

I'm just not sure how HARD to go at the run-pass defense setting. I hate to talk here about tactics so make any comments in the Battlers forum.

Re: Cool Sim Site

Hmm, actually their last two opponents who they had good wins against have a combined total of one win.

Maybe it will be easier than we thought with them looking better than they are in recent weeks because of their opposition.
