When will people get it, that Paul Roos will not be coaching next year for anyone? This is getting on ridiculous, he is not a career coach.

Carlton supporters have wanted him and now Hawthorn supporters do.

Jesus they are extremely harsh on Clarko over there at the Hawks board obviously i dont know the finer details of whats happening down there but i think a Premiership coach deserves time to have a chance to turn it around again.

Paul Roos has been the best coach in the AFL since 1990. Period. I don't care what anyone says, nothing will change this for me. The things he has done at the swans is nothing short of outstanding. He's the most respectable guy I can think of in the AFL. A true role model.

I hate people who say Mark frickin Thompson is better than Paul Roos. I remember when Mark Thompson was eating a sandwich during the game and everyone thought this was a testament to what a good and relaxed coach he is. Newsflash: Paul Roos was eating jelly snakes YEARS before Mark Thompson got anywhere near a damn sandwich.

Mark Thompson started in 1999 and had a lot of bad seasons where they missed finals. As soon as Paul Roos took up coaching, the club itself was affected immediately, finishing 3rd. The swans only missed one final under Paul Roos and it looks like it's going to stay that way in 2010.

And the way Paul Roos did it with such an 'average' group of players (That's subjective) is an amazing achievement. It is only this season where I think we've recruited some outstanding players and the swans are flexing their muscles.

Paul Roos has often been criticised for coaching boring football, but Paul Roos coaches to get the best out of his players. He coaches to win.

I would agree that Roos is the best coach in the modern era. Whether I was a Swans supporter or not, I'd still say the same thing.

Not sure that Bomber Thompson would even be 2nd... the other consideration would surely be Leigh Matthews. Lethal was able to coach a premiership with 2 teams, which not many coaches would do. And he turned what was previously a rabble at Brisbane into 3 time winners.

Bomber was a coach who was a bee's dick away from being sacked in 2007 before the season turned around.

It's mid 2012, the AFL is in a bind. The new GWS club just isn't working out. Sheeds, having talked up the new club is struggling to get a win and has come on a bit with dementia. He thinks he's coaching the Dons of 2000. He even starts calling them by the wrong names. Their captain, Gary Ablett Jr (who took the big money), gets fed up with Sheeds calling him Hirdie all the time. Half the team threaten to walk. Even big Jesse White, now the dominant forward of GWS after falling out with those idiot Swan's BF fans who kept calling for his head, has said he'd rather play for Carltank. That got the AFL's attention. It got everyone's attention. What kind of torture must these players be going through that someone would want to play for Carltank ? (even if they did offer to pay an extra $500k outside of the salary cap)

In desperation the AFL turn to Roos (just back from an NFL scouting trip and a quick visit to Tammy's home town). "Paul you gotta take over GWS" begs Demetriou. You can have a bag of ex-storm players, you can have salary concessions, draft concessions, free bus passes for the kids. You can even play ugly. Just pleasssssssse help us. Whadya say ? How much do you want ?"

Yeah, I saw that. No real surprise. Obviously I could be accused of a little bias here, but I honestly rate Paul Roos as the best coach in the AFL, by a considerable margin. And by all the interest in Roos in the other boards, so do many others, even fans of other clubs.
