You mean, before he jumped ship for a quid?
Which means he's a poor leader?
Better tell GAJ and Chris Judd. Poor leaders both.

You mean, before he jumped ship for a quid?
So the chasing a flag thing is a bit of a beat-up?

Funny that St Nick anointed him his successor as captain before he left then.
But what would he know.
He left primarily because of his relationship with Scott Watters, but St Kilda wouldn't go beyond three years and Essendon offered four.
Plus at that point, he needed a sea change. The difference in attitude behind the scenes from his last year at St Kilda compared to his time at Essendon is remarkable.
Didn't St Kilda have massive, truly massive salary cap issues? Goddard may be a douche of the highest order, but he can play some serious football, and would command a corresponding wage. I suspect the saints were happy enough to see him go, for purely economic reasons.
lol no he didnt... you are confusing him with dal santo
Yeah great read that. I wish she'd do a shortish, like 40 pages or so, wrap up of each individual draft from every team's perspective. Eg. The dogs took Kieran Collins at pick 26 for reasons x, y and z, having identified a need for a seemingly ready to go backman to free up Jordan Roughead up the ground and potentialy into the ruck, where he feels he plays his best football blah de blah de blah. I'd buy that everyday of the week.this is correct. well documented in emma quayles latest book
I'm really not.
EDIT: To your above post, the salary cap issues and Goddard's contract formed part of the friction between Watters and Goddard.
Baguley played as a killer midfielder back in his juniors, hasn't had the opportunity, may he have a cracker this seasonThe funny thing is, I agree with this.
He talks well, and he's a good bloke.
Believe it or not, I'd consider Zach Merrett too, speaks so well, is already a leader around the club.
Baguley is another.
Player vote I say, best man stands up. I would really want Zaharakis, he went against the grain, now he get the grain. I think he will inspire the younger guys alot more than Goddard. Its up to them, they're still there in the team.We dont have much of a choice.
And a really good guy, really nice.A left field nomination, purely based on his personal form and leadership qualities just might be Mark Baguley.
Tough, hard as nails, honest.

Does 2016 count towards FA? If so, Hooker may leave as a FA end of year and you'll only get a compo pick in return, unless AFL pull the pin on compo picks. That'd nearly be the final nail in Ess' coffin from the AFL.Is players like Heppell,Hooker etc decide leave that will be end for me.
You're wrong, he would be as keen as mustard and unlike you is still in competitive sport. Unlike you has more drive and unlike you he would say let's give it a go. I stand by what I said I hope he gives it a crack, because unlike you he can do it. Good luck with your 100 metre sprints maybe you'll live abit longer.I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the peninsula footy league is a step down from the AFL. I was a gun sprinter when I was 12. Now I'd be lucky to run 100m.
I don't think Baguley would have anywhere near the tank to play a full game in the midfield, let alone a season. He might have stints in there, but I wouldn't imagine it'd be a permanent thing, even with your situation.

So this year counts towards qualifying then? Interesting times, could go either way imo.Hooker is a FA.

Bet he wishes he chose literally any other club. Hell, the Saints are closer to a premiership tilt now, if he'd just stayed put.
I like the part where he walked out on the Saints because he wanted to play for a team with a better chance of winning a premiership. Lol
