Environment GOING ALONE THREAD

I've just returned from Europe doing a contiki, and 100% would recommend going alone. Our group was really bad (I did meet some good people though) Felt like it was high school with some groups sticking together and not allowing new people to talk to them. Wish I had done Europe alone, you will meet far better people in hostels, which I did when staying a few days after my tour had finished.

I got very lucky with my Busabout group where most people were social to anyone, noticed a few groups aren't like that. Some people are just useless at traveling overseas, god know how some of them would survive traveling alone and actually having to open up to new people. Same for some hostels.

Stayed in a hostel in KL whilst travelling there alone and it was a pain in the arse trying to meet others as it was full of cliquey Poms. However the expat bars there are fantastic for meeting others whilst solo.
