Respectfully, and in my opinion... Trading Tippet??? Surely you jest...
He was/is an AA Ruck/Forward until round 12 when he did his hamstring behind the knee. He came back in round 20 without the benefit of being eased in through the reserves. That's 8 rounds with out the benefit of match practice or fitness. You all know that the big men take time to reach full fitness, there was only ever a small chance he would have time to reach this level again before the GF, but then his jaw was broken for him... He played on, stood up for us... how much fun do you think it might have been playing with a broken jaw??
You don't trade out an AA level player unless they are past it, and he is 29 and has life in him yet... you don't trade out ruck/forwards either, not even for Fyfe... cause if Naismith got injured and we had no Tippet, then our ruck pair is Nankervis and Sinclaire... is that really what you want??? Do you really think this is going to bring us a flag next year?? Or any year???
As for Parker, he injured his knee at the end of the Prelim and played through it... you call him a choker, not a big game player... really??? Where have you been all season? He had a knee injury earlier during the season and played through it, came back to form and played on. You say he only ever plays well in the H&A, and I think perhaps you might need to have your eyes checked!
You need to win 15-16 of the H&A games to make the finals, then you need to win three more to make the GF... and Parker is one of the reasons we were able to do this. If you doubt this, then go back and have a look at a few of the hard tight game we played... and if you think he 'choked' then go back and watch that GF again, because he fought to the death...
Parker is a gun and a warrior, perhaps not to Kennedy's level yet, but I have no doubt that he will be in the future baring injury...
We need both these boys moving forward, to talk of trading them is madness!
