So which do you prefer?

*Car - The comfort of siting in ya car going to the footy and being able to park at the ground. However going by car will cost you fuel, parking fee at the G and trying to get out after the game can be a pain in the butt.

*Train - Siting with fellow supporters and a much cheaper option than going by car. However going by train to and from can be very crowded and having to stand is annoying.

Train to Flinders, and then either TRam it, or walk, depending on the weather and time.

Walking to the G, the atmosphere and the sense of occasion while being surrounded by hundreds of other like-minded footy lovers is a great feeling.

Yeah the walk with footy people is always good :thumbsu: In the past I have parked my car at East Richmond, then walked to the ground

Train to Spencer then Jollimont. 6 pack of jam doughnuts and I'm set. Have started walking back to Flinders after a game.

Car.

Usually a group of 5 of us go to games.

Park at Crown. Put a few multis on, grab a bite.

Usually a mate of mine drives every week (doesnt drink).

Stroll over to the MCG and enjoy the game with a few frothies in hand.

Pies win.

We leave happy.

Car- I always get a seat, no smelly passengers sniffing, swearing and eating ( other than my kids) beside me, the Werribee line is full of weirdos with unsafe stations, and I get to listen to the radio all the way home as loud as I like. That said, nothing beats an early trip in to the G on GF day by train, the walk over the bridge from Flinders St and the walk back on the wave of a victory.

I used to live in Collingwood & just walk. Now it's the train for me, easily. I hate the queuing up to get out of the carpark, can take 1/2 an hour or more just to get out. Then Punt Rd/Swan St are really busy & you just sit in traffic. Or you have to park a long way away, then walk 1/2 an hour to the 'G. Sort of defeats the purpose of driving. Plus, catching the train, I can have a few beers at the footy.

Train from Chelt straight to the G/Etihad.

So easy, cheap, and being in the area I am, I always get a seat.
If I'm with people I know, talk footy with them, if alone, listen to the radio.

Only slight downside is the scrum at the end of the game, but if I'm with friends we'll grab something after the game then get a later train. Or if it's a day game and there's a second game in Melbourne that night make it a double :D

Like the pre and post game Triple M reports and I prefer that via my car radio and not headphones on the train. Like to get there early and have a few drinks and something to eat in the bar so I never have trouble getting a park at the ground.
