Well that was quite a disaster of a game. Allowed the Roys a 45 point head start with the lead blowing out to 9 goals at one stage. Not going to win too many games playing like that and it puts us behind the eight ball with a 1-2 record. Playing in muddy/rainy conditions every week does seem to take it's toll on the body. I'll request to Thatsapaddlin was by far our best with 3 goals from rover, GreyCrow battled on bravely leading our disposals with 19 and a goal from the ruck allowing us to fight back and close the margin to under three goals early in the last. SunshineTiger kicked his first career goal late in the third.

But alas there was much to do, and three goals was as close as we got. We're still the best team defensively and keeping oppositions to relatively low scores, but aren't effective enough going forward. Next week we play the Furies, Sterge is back and NaturalDisaster is still captain so the perfect opportunity to get back on track presents itself.

WHAT A WIN! Such a good even performance from everyone, we trailed by four goals at one stage but we stormed home in the second half to secure our second win of the season. Blacky kicking the final two goals to seal the deal on opposite number NaturalDisaster was fitting, as was 3121 premiers managing a massive game against his old side. Our defense continues to be elite keeping the Furies to just 76 points in perfect conditions for Qooty, Smartys Power an absolute rock at fullback. Thatsapaddlin has seemingly mastered the art of dropping at the knees and raising the arm winning 14 free kicks this season and only conceding 1. On the other hand, umps don't seem to like Ulahoopski who's conceded 7 without getting a single free.
We're playing the Las Vegas Bears this week, their glass cannon attack will fall to pieces against a competent and structured backline. It's a clash between a strong club that has never had its existence threatened and another that folded. If off field fortunes translate at all to on field then we'll win this easily.

Came up with a few interesting facts after doing some quarter by quarter stats analysis for the season so far.
- Out of the 16 quarters we have played, we have kept the opposition below 4 goals in 13 of the quarters
- Our best quarter in terms of points differentials was the third quarter against the Roys launching a belated comeback after a terrible first half - we went +26 points that quarter
- Our defence is especially stifling as the game wears on, no team has managed to score more than 15 points in the fourth quarter against us
- We have not lost a third quarter so far this season and on average we win it by 10 points
- We have been slow starters - outside of our Round 1 domination of the Bombers we have trailed at half time by 3 goals on average the past three games
- We have had 3 quarters where we've scored 5 goals or more, all have come in the second half of games

Well that sucked... Obviously the one week where we decided to try and win in a shootout it probably shouldn't have been against the highest scoring team in the comp. Damn Blacky for wanting to kick so many goals. Midfield lynch pin RodneyDangerfield was obviously carrying an injury spending significant of the time on the best and struggled to find the pill so much that the umpire gifted him 6 free kicks - even with those he couldn't reach double digits. Need a better performance from our barometer next week to win. Footypie32 continued some brilliant form at CHF kicking 3 goals, gathering 15 disposals and hauling in 6 marks. GreyCrow was good in his 27 disposal and a goal game from the ruck but unfortunately the game wasn't on our terms. Next week we'll certainly need to get back to the ugly, flooding, John Longmire, 17 in defense and hope our superstar full forward carries us to a winning score game plan.
P.S. Just quietly, I have only conceded 1 goal from 5 games at CHB so far this season.

Another frustrating result leaves us still hanging onto 8th spot by percentage if I'm not mistaken. boondy had a successful return coming off the bench early into the ruck and winning the hitouts along with gathering 22 disposals. Blacky now brings his tally to 30 goals for the season and is averaging a fantastic 5 goals a game - With 16 coming in the last two weeks. NTRabbit has continued quite a consistent season on the forward flank averaging 14 disposals and 2 goals along with 4 marks per game.
2-4 record now coming up against the undefeated recalcitrant troglodyte reptiles from Coney Island. They have won their last 8 games including the opening 6 this season so fair chance we go into the game as underdogs. Just the way we like it.
