My sporting experiences up there lead me to believe that by and large its more social to attend sporting fixtures than die-hards who bleeed .

Swans games. I remember the yuppies with picninc hampers and blankets on the hill like it was an Adelaide Test Match ....until the Mexican cheer squads and their sympathisers reminded them that it wasn't.

Rugby League..depends on where you go or went....Parra v C'Bury at the Belmore Sports Ground was certainly "social" occassion....North Sydney Oval on the other hand...use to have a brass band from one of the local Private Schools playing "Teddy Bear's Picnic" among other just as intimidating fight songs during the game...

Yeah let's merge two bitter rivals and move them 2 hours up the freeway....where they'll spend the whole time making it clear to the locals they wish they weren't there....

Central Coast Leagues Club directly opposite Grahame Park/whateverit'scallednow Stadium though FTW ( lived up there in the mid-90's)....if you couldn't get laid there you were either gay or looked like Kwasimodo and only had a half incher...and either way, even then you'd still be a fair chance....almost all A- grade too...

GOld Coast has been very smart going about this trade period. Though them getting the compo picks back shouldn't effect us either way. If they aren't using those picks then the other club would have. It's not like extra compensation picks are popping out of thin air.

YOU REALISE when Heppell(presumably Brisbane ) is up for trade in two years GC will make a play for him once he has acclimatised in QLD with GC's picks/players!!

I'm just watching with a morbid curiosity ...

Funny story , i now hold two AFL memberships because i am moving up that way years end and a resident smart-@rse i know has bought me a Suns membership complete with bumper sticker , cap etc.... i will no doubt get to a game or two because other than sitting on my new deck looking at Cape Byron and smoking pot there wil be f... all else to do so i look forward to seeing first hand how it develops and what spin Vlad puts on it

Hey Iddy.. Im moving to Casaurina in a couple of weeks and managing a nice bar there.. Ill be just up the road if you ever wanna pop in and have a beer.. or a choof(though the Missus is pretty naive so maybe a dart). Ill be living in a beachside property, heaps of fishing and away from teh Goldy crap but still close enough for when I need a toxic fill.
