Data from footywire. To check the draft order see the thread here.

Footywire says: "While we make every effort to keep up to date with player contracts, it is likely that our data may at times be out of date, incomplete or inaccurate. If you find any player contracts that need updating, please let us know using our brand new contract submission form."

Not sure you read my post properly. Im saying its stupid to spend big money on a recruit when you should be spending that money frontloading contracts so you can keep the list together as long as you can. Poaching a player for 3 1st rounders isnt all that useful if come his next contract Jack Lukosius has 3 mill extra on the table at the Crows and then takes that with Gold Coast getting 2 1st rounders back.. Rather keep what you have

You are not in a rebuild at all so why wait 1 more year to get a midfielder in to be at the back end of a long list when you can get a ready made KP defender to fill a grander need?
Don’t worry, dude, they just signed up Jeffrey for 4 more years …. He’ll be another dump in 18 months

Walters is a draftee too, you gonna wait 4 years for him to develop and not play him? You wanna build a core group together as opposed to trade picks away for 3 years of Dustin Martin only to lose Jack Lukoscious for less
You know that Lukosius re-signed for 4 years?

One of the reasons to clean up 1M (Hollands, Chol, Burgess) was to have a cap in order and have money for A grader, King, etc.

Exactly, we are getting 4 talented local players who will take some time to develop. Why should we add another one only to put more pressure down the track on cap, while there will be limited opportunity to play and a good chance for draftee to leave in 2-3 years.

Who is trading picks for Martin? Nobody.

It’ll be 400k or a bit more …, but the fact is he’ll be pushed out by all these young guns you’ve been drafting needing more money
Maybe it's that much or more. That's less than the average salary anyway, hardly a disaster.

Maybe he loses his place, or maybe the move to half back works a treat.

Maybe you shouldn't take Kane Cornes too seriously.

Man, Jeffrey is one of the most talented young players on the list. Just because he was limited by injuries does not mean he will be overtaken in a couple of years by draftees.

Did you actually watch him? Honestly, I don't understand, why is this big uproar about his 4 year contract. When he is healthy he is best 22.

No one takes Cane Kornes seriously …. But that just looks like poor list management. As a gws supporter, I’ve been through the struggles of constant over-paying/over-extending contracts

He’s pretty good….but not much more than that

Just using a random example

If you have salary cap pressure now, whats gonna happen in 4 years time if you added a A grader ontop of King at 750k+?

Proves you need to hit the draft more or less and not trade picks for a top player even moreso

4 first rounders is enough this year.
