It was consistent

The rest were high 170s

People say i do but then my ball doesnt go that far

But it was the first time with the triple diamond Paradym

It only carried 232, 262 total with 182mph
Fair enough, sounds like you have the physical attributes to generate high club head speed which if you can improve the contact and technical skill of the swing could lead to really long drives.

What's your driver clubhead speed?

Yeh no idea unfortunately

Golf box only let ya on the simulators if your buying something

The one for the ball speed is at the rnage and doesnt have swing speed

Im not convinced ha

May be Ball compensation from range balls or something

First lesson tonight in 4 years. Lets see how broken I am after it.
I tried one a month ago, couldn't commit to it. The changes broke my swing and I'm pretty CBF to work through it, don't have the mental commitment.

I went back to my existing swing with a few YouTube tweaks.

I would however consider a short game lesson because I feel like that's less disruptive than trying to rebuild someone's full swing.

I had one a month ago and after I hit a 4 wood the pro loaded the video and drew the lines on the pc as they do. I was a tad under plane in the initial takeaway...but only just, By the finish of the backswing it was right back on the line, flat wrist and the club flexing as I was starting to transition, club face correct. Hands and club head exactly on plane through to impact and both perfectly on plane to finish. Something I had never achieved on video in a lesson. Funny thing is, it was a average shot. Pro said it was because the club face was a couple of degrees open at impact. On course I probably would have been pissed as I watched the ball go out to the right...and would not have known it was a good swing. He recognized it was straight away. Funny game.

Backswing doesn't go high enough and all my work is done by my body. Such a simple fix, my body is in great position and setup great. Was flighting them consistently and accurately.

Driver is a massive issue. I kept the face open and was again all body. Much more to work on here but simple closing face at top and swinging through with the hands more pronounced had the ball moving in the direction.

Few things to work on but feeling confident. Will hit range up and play some 9 holes to get an understanding of my new swing. I'm hopeful

Went down to Albert Park this morning 8am. 6 people. 9am, bays were full.

Anything higher then a 7i battling with the new swing, but they are going straighter and more consistent.

Driver, 20% straight, 20% hooks (which apparently is good), 20% push and 30% horrible. 10% mixture of all. Prior to this I was 0% straight. So we are on the improve.

Enjoy logging into the trackman app, tracks everything for me and is now stored on my phone. 170 ave 7i, 176 ave 6i. Need to work on that.

Overall saw some progress, will go again twice this week.

Backs been cooked recently and struggled to pull up after a round or a range session, a specialist spinal physio suggested it might not improve if I keep playing Golf but if I am going to keep playing to try and adopt a more upright/steep swing that uses more arms and less aggressive spinal rotation than a flatter swing, reckons he's had a lot of senior clients who have done so and it has worked for them to improve but not eliminate pain, all swings have some spinal rotation but some are more challenging on the back than others.

Anyone know any good instructors either YouTube based or in person (Melbourne) who work with a more back friendly upright swing?

Might not be ideal but if it's a way to play that will reduce pain I'm willing to give it a go.

Still working on my swing with the changes made but found some further consistency. Irons were able to have a little baby draw (or hook if I missed it completely) and wasn't really losing them left like I have been.

Driver took some adjusting to get into it but then really was getting some consistency. Not sure my ball flight was correct but seemed like a fade. But then probably a controlled slice. Some pics for my shots today.

The most shots were my irons. From closest to furthest

PW - 117m
8iron - 142m
6iron - 167m
5iron - 180m

Driver for the 8 shots at the end was also 283m but would have included roll

Averages too

You certainly give the ball a decent tap.

It's nice to give it a tap, just doesn't help with no consistency.

Back at the range today will see if it fully starts to click.

Pro said I should go out for a bruise free solo 9 to test out in the coming week. We will see how I'm feeling after that. Might go out Monday after work.

Couldn't get into it today at the range.

My irons were good, but not as consistent as yesterday.

Driver was bad, took it back to a drill he showed and was connecting really good. Hitting them 150-175m with shoulder width feet and swing to hip practicing the arm motion. Tried to translate that into real shots and was horrible.

I will get there. I know it.

Well went out this evening to Royal Albert Park for a 9 after work. Solo to see how the new swing went.

Overall it was quite enjoyable for the most part. Definitely was striking the irons more consistently with a little baby draw. Was closing my iron a little on my swing down which probably due to my new swing with driver and carrying over. But then found my groove.

Finished par, birdie, birdie and birdie (just missed eagle). 40 off the stick. 60% GIR and 78% Fairway in reg

Never gone three birdies in a round nor in a row but let's be honest it's not a long tough course.

Didn't get to hit the drive bar once (didn't lose it) but will take it as a positive.

Pretty awesome result. Bad luck you didn't keep going for a bit with a few easy holes in the next five or so. Also...being a easy track...you still have to hit good shots to make birdies.

That is true. Shouldn't discount that either.

Irons were doing a nice little baby draw I guess, was enjoyable for the most part out there. Will continue to work hard at it but its positive steps.

I just had an hour lesson at MGA and was working on a couple of things...one which I had been trying to do at home before the lesson for the last month, so I was able to execute it pretty easily and was good to be under the eye of a pro to be sure I was practicing the right thing. Just waking up my lower half coming into impact and rotating more so my belt buckle was closer to facing target just after impact...left leg straight before impact (I was focusing on straightening that leg and was probably rotating better as a result).

Still under plane initially with longer clubs so I still have to nail that.

Good lesson, full of confidence afterwards seeing it is all coming together slowly but surely.

i've witnessed him hit a 4 iron at least 220mt :)

Think I played pretty well that day too, one of my better rounds this year.

Another range tonight, pretty disappointing with some ball striking but was finding some fluid momentum with my 4 iron and 6 iron later on.

Driver continuing to work on the motion that was given too me but is hard to replicate as I am definitely a visual learner. Have reached out to the bloke that has given me a lesson, asking for a video demo but was given some half ass reply 9 days later. Going to switch it up to someone else, if I am paying $130 for a lesson or more, a simple video of the drill he gave me I don't think is out of the question.

I snuck out to the range this morning to try out the new 3H, unfortunately couldn't get a read on it as I had one of those days where the swing was completely lost and I was spraying them all over the place.

Every now and then I get into these funks where it all falls apart, and I forget what I'm trying to do or how it felt when I was hitting it straight. It started on the back 9 of my last round and it's carried on to today's range session.

Hopefully when I next swing a club it's shaken off.
