With the US Masters upon us I thought it was an opportune time to throw up a thread on the other great game.

Who here hits the links? Any single figure handicaps? Occasional weekend hackers? Preferred course? I blast my way around North Adelaide once in a while. Would love to play more.

Will be glued to the screen the next four days.

Who here hits the links?

Im lucky to hit the ball let alone hit the links;)
Its a game I could never master [ no pun intended ] but it was my early grounding on how to swear.
However, I do love watching it all unfold at Augusta - beautiful course.

I took Thursday and Friday off last week, Thursday to run a bunch of errands and Friday for a game of golf. Polished up the clubs, got in the zone.

Errands, no probs.
Golf, rained all day = no golf.

Grrrr

did it all go down hill immediately? Did he take time off?

When his wife (now ex wife) smashed his car windscreen with the golf clubs, he had a knee injury that kept him off the PGA for a few months and that would not have helped his swing with rotation meaning his drop off in form. His ablity to hit the driver unlike anyone else was the reason he was so good.

Over the past 12 months, he has had a bad back that required an operation and now its seems very unlikely to see him return to the PGA.

So you reckon if it wasn't for injuries, he would still be top or close to it?

I think you have to judge by era and equipment. So in my mind there are a few "best evers".

Oakmont is hosting the US Open and I snagged little AC and I tickets to the Sunday round. It is close enough for us. About an hour and a half drive

Actually never been to a major before so looking forward to it. Seems Mr Day is in top form so should be fun.
