Cameron Ellis-Yolmen to Brisbane on a 4 year deal

ADELAIDE unrestricted free agent Cam Ellis-Yolmen will be the next Crow to fly the coop, when he accepts a four-year offer from Brisbane.

AFL.com.au understands the 190cm midfielder's teammates have known for weeks about the length of his impending deal with the Lions.

Ellis-Yolmen's played only 39 games in eight seasons but has proven a capable onballer who can perform run-with roles, and he averaged a career-best 23.5 disposals and 4.9 clearances in 2019.

The long-term deal fits with Brisbane's recent list strategy, including typically offering no less than three years – Luke Hodge excluded – to incoming recruits.

Ellis-Yolmen will renew acquaintances with Charlie Cameron and former Adelaide football boss David Noble at the Lions.

Cam Ellis-Yolmen has decided to pursue his rights as an unrestricted free agent and will leave Adelaide after eight years.

Ellis-Yolmen managed 39 AFL games, mainly as a midfielder, and held a rookie contract in 2019.

Crows General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid thanked the 26-year-old for his contribution.

“Cam has been a valued member of our playing group and has shown great resilience to overcome his share of injuries,” Reid said.

“We wish him every success in the next stage of his football journey and he will always be part of the Crows family.”

Yikes, 4 years for a player with under 50 games under his belt - good on him but a relief that we didn't offer him such a long deal. I think he was a 2 year deal prospect at best.

Really don't see much in Robertson worth chasing myself.

Big tank but that's about where it starts and ends from what I've seen from him.
Only 24 with 79 AFL games under his belt, hard, tough competitor, bigger , heavier and quicker than CEY and more versatile, can play back or ideally suited to a run with role on the oppo's best midfielder. Upgrade on what Riley Knight's delivered the last couple of years.

Brisbane building a side around contested footy.

Fascinating counterpoint to Richmond's way of playing which effectively hopes to break even at clearances at best, but win the pressure war and therefore get more value for the contests they win.
