I had a hunch this was happening, he wasn’t able to get on the park due to injuries
I wish him all the best!

So we gave Gibbs a farewell match against the Blues, but Talia won't get one. This part of it doesn't sit right with me.
It's a strange situation where an absolute champion of the club and loyal player and leader just faded away without closure.
Dude if he cant get in the park how can that be facilitated? Honestly the club are doing the right thing. So we gave Gibbs a farewell match against the Blues, but Talia won't get one. This part of it doesn't sit right with me.

Not much we can do if he can't actually get out on the park, thoughI can only assume his injury is terminal for his career and he'll retire. If he was capable of playing on at a decent level next year then surely we'd keep him around. He's at the older end of our list, but certainly not at a completely over-the-hill age - would be 30 next season. If he goes somewhere else and comes out playing good footy next year then some people at our club are going to have some very hard questions to answer about why they cut a club great because of 1 injury-plagued season.
I wonder in announcing the end for Lynch and Talia in this way that we are not expecting any free agent offers.
I would have thought Talia might have some value on the free agent market (even if it's a late second or third round pick).
But these announcements make it sound like we're just delisting them and they'll be DFAs
wtf.
Surely there is trade value here and we are screwing ourselves.
Not particularly with Carlton they have kept veterans like Murphy and Kruezer for way longer than they should have. We need to be ruthless if we are to get anywhere. I do agree we have to get rid of Mackay next because if we keep him it just would not make sense. I am disappointed we didn't try blooding a Kelly replacement this year otherwise I would've been comfortable with him going as well.Does this give anyone else Melbourne Carlton and North Melbourne rebuild vibes?

He'll get a lap of honour, I don't even think he is fit enough to get a farewell game and if he does want to play on that'll decrease his value if he reinjures himself. So we gave Gibbs a farewell match against the Blues, but Talia won't get one. This part of it doesn't sit right with me.
