Analysis Good, Bad, and Frustrating vs Sainters

There was a lot to love in this game...

Himmelberg just keeps presenting.

Murphy's second and third and fourth and fifth efforts.

Poholke surprisingly strong in a contest.

Keath was everything, everywhere.

Windscreens looks angry. I farking love it. Big angry mongrel ruck with repeat efforts and the ability to clunk 'em.

Tex being the best version of himself.

Smithers damaging as hell.

Ratkins. Clean and hard all day.

Yes I tipped us by 48 but very, very happy with this win.

The Outstanding: Don Pyke.

Twice in two weeks he's gone down to the bench and taken control.

How much better do we look with ROB and Berg instead of Sauce and JJ??!!

Happy to bank the win. 3:3 season back on track. Back in the 8.

ROB was absolutely huge. Had mongrel, was clunking marks consistently unlike 2018/19 Jacobs, had a smart touch in the ruck, and was following up his taps with second and third efforts.

Granted, he was facing a spud in Longer, but if he shows that most weeks he has a future

St Kilda are a solid side this year, I reckon that’s a good win. Can’t fault a whole heap of our players. Walker, Keath, Smith, Laird, Brouch, Atkins instrumental

Quiet overall but I liked what I saw in glimpses from Poholke

First time I’ve seen a player in him

I was never convinced by Keath and Poholke originally, so it’s nice to be wrong about a couple of guys the right way

Keath looks a star. He’s not a good 1 on 1 player, love how he’s been reinvented in that tall intercept role

Keath, Tex, Murph, ROB, Buergers, Smith, Brouch all good.

Not that much bad outside the first quarter, TBH.

Usual offenders down back. Not putting clearance dominance on the board in the third + some bad misses. Eddie quiet.

Gooch didn't set the world on fire, but that's to be expected given it's his first match back and didn't play at all last week.

GOOD:
The Crouches. Feasted
ROB and Berg We missed absolutely nothing without Jacobs and JJ.
Tex - played like a big forward.
Laird, Keath and Smithers - excellent defence
Atkins second half was good
All round good effort.

BAD:
Hartigan was costly at times.
Poholke needed to do a bit more to keep his spot. Think you have to pout Gooch above him
Knight and Macaky were not good early. Thik they improved, but the door is open for others...
