The umpiring was bad, but the real story is that we were absolutely monstered in the midfield. A totally different class when it counted. 2006 Preliminary Final carbon copy.

We aren't good enough to be contending. I'm sure we'll compete well and are still a good chance of playing a final and we will have some good wins, but ultimately not good enough.

Again.

notch that one up to the umpiring. Why cant they just let it run naturally, why do they have to get them back in the game? They can get themselves back in. Then when we needed the frees, deserved the frees, crickets chirping.

In hindsight, jenkins in looked like a wise idea now.

Add Tex to the title

Good:
Gooch in the first half was very good
Milera was a nice return
Murphy did some very good things (hate his forward 50 entries though)

Bad:
Talia and Tex. Tex is not injured, he is just not the player we all wish he was. If he wasn't Tex he'd be dropped.
Our marking
We miss Matt

Poor decision making got them back in the game.

Not really, if we hadn’t butchered a heap of gettable shots on goal we’d have won. But yeh, Tex and EH could have hit the scoreboard. Tex was pretty good in the last quarter though.
Good? What did he do? A couple of tackles and should of been done cold Htb. Kennedy was a key forward who stood up when it mattered.

No. Really.

Their big forwards kicked 6 goals straight and took the big grabs. Ours was basically unsighted. Sure Tex and Berg could have hit the scoreboard but they didnt.

The conditions are no excuse either.

Lots of good signs this year but unfortunately don't have the cattle up forward. Jenkins over Walker and his half arsed efforts. Talia's worst game for the club.

Destroyed in the clearances.

Use pick 1, trade out a few of our aging guys, get Grundy as a FA in 2020 and go for a flag then.

So this is what if feels like to be Port Adelaide.
Weirdly, I watched that game in the Rattle and Hum pub in Cairns, and from be minutes into the last quarter, Charlie Dixon came in and took a photo with me (in Crows shirt) and him in front of his guernsey, which was on the wall near where I was watching the footy.

FWIW, he was actually a really nice guy. Said he hoped we lost on the last kick of the game, but I guess that's fair enough.
