What about side though, youngest list means nothing when you only play the top 26ish players.
We won't really challenge until most of out best side have played 50+ games.

That is next year.

Reckon it would still be similar but not using it as an excuse but we do have an inexperienced side.

We have Walker (245), Sloane (240), Smith (232) and Laird, who has played 209 games, with the next being Rilley O’Brien at 84.

How is that not holding the man?

I was yelling at the tv.
Didn’t he get the free?

He definitely got one in a similar spot and he tried to milk a 50 by making it look like the geelong player wouldn’t let him up.

It was very devious. Neil Craig would be rolling in his grave.

Another 5kg each will help greatly too!
Maybe not across the whole team? :sneaky:
I was thinking about that watching the Cats game.
So many Cats broke tackles; the size difference between us and their older, bigger bodies was clear.
The Crows have a group of undersized young players that often get mauled, physically.

Just rest him FFS. He is clearly not right and is too valuable a long term asset to risk in a year where we aren't going to be a contender.

Starting to look abit like the Craig and the Porplyzia shoulder debacle.

Craigy would play you with one arm hanging off but not if you failed to average 1.2 tackles a game.

No free kick for that one.
The Club should be giving the AFL a "please explain" but they'd probably get:
"The Crows player (Pedlar) fell forward while holding the tackler whose momentum was unavoidable ... etc etc" :rolleyesv1::rolleyesv1:

We were never winning that. only positive is we were in the game until the last 3mins. we were competitive.
somebody at AFL house hates us... we are a bottom 6 side yet look at that block of games that they gave us.

Also, we need to have a plan B where the opposition have a dominant defender like Stewart.

I would like us to try someone like Hinge who can play on them tightly, but also kick goals to do some damage the other way.
I reckon a key reason why guys like Stewart do so well.against us is our Forwards lack of marking ability.

Tex has never been a great contested mark. Fog is a bit better, can leap at the ball, but does not regularly take strong contested marks. The old school "marks up" pack mark.

Gollant and McAdam are our best guys at this.

Yep. Even on the lead Tex and Fog were easily caught by their opponents on Saturday. Got to bring in Gollant for one of those two, probably Fog, as he was the worst of the two, next week. That said, Geelong's overall team defence was excellent...the amount of times they got a fist in / spoiled / smothered was astounding.

This is like 1960’s chat …. You need to be able to do a bit of everything these days or you’ll get exposed pretty quick
If you don't play players to their strengths you don't win against the good sides. This is Nicks to a tee.
You can't bring beta setups up against an alpha team.
Football is still the same game it has always been but the rules and the way they are interpreted at times nowadays is making it harder to watch.

Scott Burns gets a tick this week.
Hinge to Cameron worked well.
Could try and execute something other than the long to the right at the kick out though.
Fix the exit and the back line is doing its job.

You are correct. Yet TT is 3rd in AFL for contested marks...

That was our payback for Butts on Johnson the week before. Was definitely a free, it would have been fair enough if he was held for only a split second but he was held for a good 2 seconds. You can't stop a player going for the ball. It doesn't matter where the free happened. In saying that Keays did himself no favours throwing his hands back. Just go for the ball and the ump will see you are being held.
